The narrative of this is really incoherent, even for late Bendis. It looks like they were writing another history but in the last moment they salvage some pieces and glued them together to make the Secret Wars tie-in.

Does anyone else find it weird how ever since Secret Wars, any character originating from Ultimate no longer has the Ultimate text when they talk?

For Miles and his supporting cast it makes sense because Molecule Man slotted them into 616's history.

But other characters like Jimmy Hudson and pic related who just got dropped into 616 with none of their past history don't have the text.

The only characters who still have Ultimate text are The Maker, 616 Banner for some reason when he got brought back in Secret Empire, and the resurrected OG Ultimates.

The reason for it being incoherent is that Bendis was being a shit.

Bendis basically was pissed the fuck off that the Ultimate line was being killed off. While he was guaranteed that Miles and his support staff would survive into the post-SW5 canon, he was still bitter and butt-hurt that his original little fiefdom was gone forever.

So he basically ignored outright the main Secret Wars mini-series to do an Ultimate/Regular Marvel X-Over book to end the Ultimate book and the cop-out ending, was Hickman basically vetoing allowing Bendis anywhere near the ending he was working on to actually end the story.

What a shitty end to the Ultimate line. Those shitty adults ruin everything!

The writers did know Ultimatum was coming years in advance though. It was entirelly Bendis' decision to not bother giving any of the Ultimate characters a proper goodbye. Hell he had 5 issues here to give them a proper goodbye, rather than this tangled mess that doesn't even feature the actual Ultimate characters, complaining about how he never gave them a proper send off.
