The shot of Spider-Man flying through the air that immediately precedes the 2002 example is CGI that has aged worse than a Dire Straits video.

What's this image supposed to tell me?
>>
>>94086537
CGI is shit
>>
>>94086366
Nobody has ever denied that excessive CGI looks like shit, however, the animated eyes were needed.
>>
I'm pretty sure they were intentionally going for a costume that closely resembled the comics in terms of color and design in Homecoming

Every time I see clips from this it looks worse and worse. But that just makes it more charming IMO.

Why were so many close up shots cgi? I'd wager the real suit gets no more than a minute of screen time
>>
>>94087585
Obviously, Spider-Man is remaining tense and rigid so as to minimize any sudden shifts in his center of gravity and thus preventing any mishaps that could happen while swinging through New York City.

As for her hair, it's short enough that air currents are caught and tangled up in each other and flutter hair follicles among themselves.

The way they shot the scene dingus. It's reminiscent of Donner's Superman
>>
>>94087912
>>94087999
Because of the eyes probably.

I still think having mechanical eyes that emote is a great decision on their part, but it was probably a bitch trying to impose it on a real suit, so they either go full CG, or slather up the whole suit with post-processing to make it blend better.

Deadpool's design lends better to CGI though.
The features contrast harder, and the rough, stitch lines serve as great guidelines for the CGI people to work with.

Also, his general suit design, with the straps, dangling parts, layered armor and cloth, is way easier to work with compared to MCU spidey, where the only parts that "ridge" up are the small bits on the belt. Everything else is almost flush.
>>
>>94086473
The quality of the suit and the lighting are both excellent. The lighting is great through out most of 2002 Spiderman. Homecoming was fun, but it was shallow and lacking in too many areas for me to really say it was good.
>>
>>94087912
>>94087999
these pictures only support what that other anon is saying, these don't look bad at all and probably only lasted like a second or two on the screen
>>
>>94088526
>Deadpool's design lends better to CGI though.
Not really, and not really an excuse to CGI the whole suit and not just the eyes.
>The features contrast harder, and the rough, stitch lines serve as great guidelines for the CGI people to work with.
Black and red contrast less than red and blue, and the homecoming suit even has the stark black lines.
>Also, his general suit design, with the straps, dangling parts, layered armor and cloth, is way easier to work with compared to MCU spidey, where the only parts that
That seems like it'd be harder to work with, not easier.
>>
>>94088620
They look like playdough
>>
>>94087585
Hahaha, I never noticed this. It's like a low budget anime
>>
>>94088718
What I mean is, the lighting on spidey is too simple compared to the people around him. He pops out in every cgi scene because of it. It's jarring and obvious. It bothered me during the entire film.
>>
>>94087008
>needed

Not really. It's nice, but not a must.
>>
>>94086366
Raimi was really good at framing a shot, man. I know this isn't the point of the OP, but the shot, colors, and atmosphere in the Raimi still are really fucking good. I think that's part of what makes the Raimi flicks so enjoyable to watch. Raimi's direction and vision made it feel like pages from a comic springing to life more often than not. Just beautiful.
>>
>>94088685
The suit wasn't cgi most of the movie. They caked the costume with cgi to make it look better. They didn't need to and now Spidey looks like a video game avatar in some a couple of parts of the movie. Same thing in Civil War. Tom Holland was on set and in costume, but they wanted to change the suit design last minute and cgi him to the moon. The original in civil war actually looked nice too, it had a classic 60's spider emblem on the front and seemed to be raised webbing.

>They're all somehow worse than ASM2's CGI suit
Well now that's just embarrassing.
>>
>>94088190
No it's not
>>
>>94091844
Nah, it's not a necessity. Why does Spider-Man need expressive eyes in the "real world" anyway? Acting should cover it. It's nice to have, but it isn't something that must be there. A must for Spidey would be making his costume have a spider on the chest and back.
>>
homecoming was made with care and attention to the characters and scenes with them using and referencing comic moments from different decades.

the raimi and webb movies were all dirty corporate cash grabs.

>doesn't remember the part where pete explains to uncle tony why he needs the goggles

>>
>>94092227
I'll half-agree, but in terms of filmaking progress, it is a must now, especially since it's bound to be compared to competitors (deadpool's eyes in this case) there's no excuse anymore of having full-face masks that can't convey expression.

Shorter by an inch. RDJ also wears lifts that put him at 6'0+, especially on set.

It was human torch with black cat, not venom. Venom was last seen in the quinjet asking Spidey if he could get Cap autograph for him. Mysterio was my favorite fight in that game and the cutscene I watched most as a kid. "Your more angry back alley, then friendly neighborhood."

>>
>>94088526
It helps that Deadpool's suit wasn't made to be extremely fitting to the body like Spidey's is due to it being Stark tech.
>>
>>94093262
I loved how even the game acknowledges that Scorpion is stronger. You need to bust his shit up with objects.
Going head on just gets your shit pushed in.
>>
>>94091962
Andrew's big ole eyes

He does seem friendlier than Maguire's mask. Helps that he's lankier too. Holland's suit just needs to have thicker, blacker web lines. The Homeocming screencaps rminds me of the Ben Reilly hoodie costume

Until you got the Captain Universe costume that is, and then you can stomp everyone with your cosmic fists.

The bosses in general were really well done, though.

OOOHRUNOBOOY DIEEEEEEE
>>
>>94093346
That's how it works with most bosses. Rhino is basically untouchable unless you get him to ram himself into various objects like explosive barrels and generators. Carnage beats the shit out of you (on the highest difficulty, your punches literally will not damage him) unless you knock him into the sonic bubble. Monster Ock straight-up insta-kills you if he catches you, so you just run and let the exploding base handle him.
>>
Everytime I see Tom Holland's suit I get more and more upset that the perfect Spidey costume was wasted on a bad movie
>>
>>94093445
>rubberbanding AI keeps you from getting too far away from it.
>those monstrous noises.

They really nailed the desperation of the situation. I've gotta hand it to the designers that was pretty fucking scary.
