I've honestly never cared less about a Star clip in my entire life than the Silver Bell Ball clip and I've been on this ride from the beginning. Saw it exactly once, haven't speculated on shit, didn't even stop to look at the royals or whatever in the background.

I think it's possible for her to have more episodes than that because as a Butterfly with comparable magic to Star, she's more likely to actually interact with her, probably before she starts doing evil stuff. As opposed to Toffee where the literal point of him pretty much every time he was used was that no one knew what he was doing until it's too late. Could be an interesting use of a villain compared to monsters who would never ordinarily interact with Star in a normal setting.

But they don't need to be showing a villain constantly for it not to be shipping drama all the time. There's opportunities for worldbuilding etc. if this season really is set on Mewni, exploration of other characters, more lore, and so on.

It's just this particular shipping drama clip that's really doing nothing for me. Sleepover was pretty much a shipping episode and yet the preview that got interested me way more than this

It's one of the most deceptive art styles ever but if you watch it it's pretty easy to shift your mindset to "this is just how teenagers look here." They draw actual kids noticeably way shorter; despite their baby faces the teenage characters are of a fairly realistic height.

This is actually interesting because it provides a serious context for why Tom did the Blood Moon Ball

I liked it. Star was really cute and pretty that's usually enough to keep me satisfied, I'm a simple man.
Tom is a really weird character for me, in that I think he's been great every time he's shown up so far but I fucking hate him in almost every single fan depiction of him. He's like the Anti-Janna. I really hope, and think they will, keep developing him in Season 3 and move him away from being the go-to shipbait guy. I want to see him actually become a good friend to Marco and Star.
