After the admittedly garbage first couple of episodes, I liked the look into the different aspects of the Hand, how fucked up the Meachums all are, and the fact that the fight scenes (while obviously not as smooth as DD since he's stunting) were interesting when we got them. Alternatively, I didn't like Kingpin, hated the love triangle in DD S2, thought JJ was the worst part of her own series and felt like Luke Cage (who was my 2nd favorite thing about JJ's show aside from Purple Man) was really boring and slightly preachy in his own show.

I didn't mind Iron Fist. I don't think it was that bad in all honesty.

Each marvel show had the super hero aspect to it, with sort of a side aspect to go along with it. So Luke cage was a super hero show mixed with Crime/Cop drama. Jessica Jones was a super hero show mixed with "noir/detective" genre. And daredevil was a super hero film that was mixed with a lawyer/crime drama. And in the end iron fist was a superhero drama mixed with business drama.

For whatever reason, iron fist focused much more on the business drama then the super hero part, which is part of what caused the backlash Imo. Combined with people expecting a Kung fu movie and good action, they were let down.

But it Wasent terrible. Hopefully the second season is better though.

Personally I think the fact that they had such a low amount of time to prepare the show is what caused the focus on the business side as you put it.

They just simply didn't have the time nor budget to set up and make these impressive fight scenes or have these cool super hero set pieces. It's why it focuses more on drama and why the iron fist is barely used. Pile that all on with the fact that the general media was shitting on it from day 1 for not casting an Asian actor (even though that's retarded) and you just had the perfect storm of hate for the show.

Given more time, more money, it could have been just as great, if not better than the others.
