The new ones are pretty slick but I'd rather not see them try to recreate them when one of the defining traits of the X-men for the past 30 years is constant costume changes. They need to make something that looks good in live action and draws from the source rather than drawing from the source at the expense of live action. And for the record, the armor in Apocalypse did not look good.

I think the best part of Demon Bear is the lead up to it of just boring, banal, cookie cutter storylines and art. And then issue 18 comes out with Sienkiewicz on art and your head explodes.

DPS is the culmination of 40 issues of stories. Without that lead in it lacks most of its punch. The Demon Bear is much more self contained so when read in isolation it is much stronger. DBS also has much stronger art and that helps it as time moves on
