After seeing the Weiss trailer I almost don't want Jaune to ever be competent.

I can't see him moving so dynamically in a fight, so either he's going to be cluncky-useless or viable through some bullshit semblence.

Both rub me the wrong way. I wanted Jaune to become a competent fighter, but if fights are going to start playing out more like the Weiss trailer, I don't see how Jaune can really fit in with the rest of RWBY/NR.

He's just so fuckin' bad and he'll never go full medieval dark-souls.

The only argument against it I have seen is that it isn't animated in Japan, but most Anime is not animated in Japan. It's expensive, so majority is animated in South Korea, Taiwan etc. Yet that's all still considered anime, but for whatever reason this isn't.
