Seriously, one of the appeals of the Legion, I find, is that there are so many different characters, you're bound to latch on to at least a few of them.

Something of a blessing and a curse is that they exist within, but separately from the rest of the DCU, allowing them to do their own thing without interference, but also being kind of alienating to newcomers.

Because of them existing as their own entity, you could really do anything with them. Dating sim, TV series, hell a fucking webcomic if you so dared. They have a large enough roster for their own fighting game, and it sucks that what should be their greatest strength is what often drives people away from them.

Lemire writing a team book is not something I'm looking forward to. I hope he can at least channel some creativity and explore some new ground like Kirby did.

I would probably say stick to LEGION/REBELS like the others have suggested for Phantom Girl. That's probably the take they're leaning on and it's the easier franchise to get into just based on amount of material. In either case though she's very much a team book character. Some good plots but they happen while other shit is happening so you'd have to read everything.

I think you can get away with a Doom equivalent, but it shouldn't go deeper than that and the team composition. These are all still different characters who have their own themes and traits that should be explored.
