I like Samnee, I'd rather have him on a Captain Marvel, on going - which since they announced that the movie is the next DC film to start production, I would think they would be working on. At least, hopefully they will do some nice re-issues of stuff like the updated Monster Society of Evil written by Jeff Smith (Bone).

And I like Waid. I don't read most Marvel so no idea about Champions or whatever else, but his Captain America Sentinel of Liberty was kinda disappointing. I did like and think that Man Out Of Time had some excellent dialogue and ideas, in fact, I wouldn't have minded seeing it longer, enough to be a 10 or 12 issue mini.

I did read the first few Archies, I don't think they are terrible, it doesn't really interest me and I don't think Waid was the right person for that. I don't particularly like what I've seen from Riverdale, It's exactly the same thing as tumblr fan fiction except instead of creating new characters, some fan has written their own take on familiar names - there's nothing wrong with that, it's that this particular take doesn't appeal to ME. But that's who Archie Comics should have gotten for their flagship book.

So perhaps Waid can't write this now, who knows until we see it, but this quote doesn't make me think of GROUNDED at all.

Superman pointed out that it was wrong for aliens to come to Earth and just hide out instead of integrating themselves into the community and actively taking part in what's going on so as to help make the world a better place. It's always kind of consistently been within Superman's worldview that society is a give-and-take sort of construct and that you can't take without giving back to some degree. Waid used to be a talented writer. Up until like, his second arc on Daredevil, he was one of those writers who could do no wrong in my mind. Then, it's like he had a massive brain aneurysm or something. He became entirely incapable of writing a story that didn't feature some heavy-handed message and just basically shat on the entire middle half of the country in his tweets. Hell, he called a lady who supported Gamergate all kinds of names.

I get that the whole left side of the political spectrum pretty much went apeshit during the last election, but he's been this way since 2013 or 2014. He's been crazy for sometime now and I'd kill to know what happened to his ability to write a simple superhero story without doubling down on whatever narrative he's pushing that week.
