The problem with caring about any of the plot twists in MLP is that you care. Not even bashing you for watching the show, but at some point MLP stopped being MLP. It's been through a bunch of different directors and executive producers, they don't use the show bible, none of the same writers are still on board.

They've demonstrated not once, not twice, not even fewer than three times that they'll change the whole setting or ruin or a character to sell a new toy. The only people still enjoying that show are the people who don't care about the real show and understand it through a kaleidoscope of porn and fanfiction (Celestia's ass is so big, amirite?), young kids, and people who are retarded and thus have the mentality of kids.
