It's you who's cold, Gobby. Cold hearted!

Will we ever have another Goblin with such great lines?
It's funny going back to Dafoe's pre-Spider filmography, which is 90% fucked-up indie movies made by Abel Ferrara or autueurist projects like Last Temptation of Christ and Streets of Fire.
It'd be like Joaquin Phoenix showing up as Mysterio in Homecoming 2 or some weird shit like that. He was a total curveball.

I hope so but for now it seems like we need to goBACK TO FORMULA?
>A word to the not so wise about your little girlfriend; do what you need to with her then broom her fast
>Green Goblin gets mad when going 'back to formula' is suggested
>cape movies are getting stale because they're too formulaic
Is Raimi this generation's Nostradamus?
>>94039269
I like most MCU films, but what kills me is their chronic inability to have great villains.Exceptions exist obviously
>>94039210
He was really ahead of his time

Was going back to FORMULA that bad if the original serum makes you go fucking crazy than it made sense

Joaquin Phoenix really wanted to be Doctor Strange but he refused to sign a multi-picture contract.
Artsy actors like money and fun sometimes too.

Oh sure, but Dafoe had spent a career making a bunch of fucked-up movies and very specific artistic projects . He had an occasional Speed 2 or Clear and Present Danger in there, but they were pretty rare next to what he normally did.
I'm sure he was up for it, but it must have been a surprise to the studio.
IMPRESSIVE
Michael Keatons Vulture or Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin?
>>94040808
Both are great for different reasons. Norman is super over the top and campy while still having scenes where he's legitimately scary while Toomes is very down to Earth but incredibly intimidating especially after the big reveal. Both roles are carried by their fantastic actors though.

Green Goblin, he is involved with Peter's life, he was a second Uncle figure, he payed his college, father of his best friend.
While Vulture, like most of the movie, was all about Tony Stark
>Osborn got his powers through a gas chamber

Dafoe was genuinely unhinged and with Raimi directing it was a match made in heaven. IMO Dafoe's Goblin sets the bar for cape super-villains
