I'm saying that decent low budget films are better than shitty high budget films

Sony: Cloudy,Hotel Transylvania and Surfs up.
Illumination: uhhh... Despicable Me 1?

Sony has good artists working for them. I hate the Hotel Transylvania movies but there's some good animation creatively utilizing 2D principles in CG. If you're a fan of the process you could get something out of it.

Illumination writes stories that are sometimes just barely passable. But they have atrocious character design and just okay animation.

How so? Frankly, I think Sony makes better and more imaginative movies, with their only real faults being the Emoji movie and canning Popeye.
Illumination just makes passable and easy to market movies.
