Yeah it feels really front-loaded. Also weird not be joining in. I'm assuming America is getting added to the pile though. Last issue legitimately made me want to read Gabby Rivera's prose book.

>He’s announcing a new Wonder Woman: Earth One graphic novel with artist Yanick Paquette, which he compares to Empire Strikes Back. Morrison says that Diana will face her greatest challenge in the book, and that his Wonder Woman: Earth One books will be a trilogy.

>Oh, and there will be Nazi punching…

>And also a sequel to Arkham Asylum, with Chris Burnham on art, at 120 pages. Morrison compares it to Luc Beson, and says it will be all-encompassing, and set in the world of Batman #666.

Oh god and I read the rest of her comments on EO. The thing she's mad at (DC "taking away" Earth One from Rucka) isn't even correct. Rucka was doing YEAR One, he was never doing an Earth One.

Like, sure, get mad that he didn't get to do Year One, even though we know literally nothing about that story other than that it was planned at one time and then Rucka left. But Morrison has literally nothing in any way whatsoever to do with this situation. All you're complaining about is that more high profile Wonder Woman projects are coming out.

I thought I was done being baffled by Twitter silliness today.

I can understand the need for female characters that are "real", but at that point you have to wonder why you insist on getting this from superhero fantasy comic books when that's not really the point.

Like, if you want non-superhero women succeeding and leading interesting lives, there is lots of that, criticizing Marvel and DC for that is criticizing superheroes for being superheroes.

It'd be nice if they had the Sheriff sequel to announce but that's probably a ways off

No, it wasn't in solicits so some people assumed it was cancelled.
The creative team said they're working on the next arc.

Shade and Cave are not in the October solicitations. Both have their issue #12's in September, so there should be a second trade out.
>>

It reads like someone trying to do like a word vomit thing. I don't think it works in the same way in comics given that the reader has to exert effort to get through it unlike when you're more passively just watching a TV show and you chuckle a little. Like it's supposed to be awkward but in a funny way instead of an annoying one.

She can both write and draw? Does her art have noir sensibilities or rapid paneling about it?
>>
>>94024372
That seems to be common even among people who've never done anything but comics.

Not many understand how important it is to work REALLY closely with the artist. Or at least to give the artist freedom to rearrange or cut what doesn't work.

The writer does the screenplay, the artist is the cinematographer, but if one or both of you don't step up to be the director, there won't be any cohesion between the art and words.

LEGION works because there are so many conflicting POVs and no one's pegged as "the one you have to identify with". Sometimes we all want to be Vril, sometimes we all want to kill him.

Also adding to the difficulty is that he has to be written as incredibly clever but not in an off-putting sheer asspull kind of way.

>Marie Javins, the group editor, called and said “Deathstroke” to me, and it stopped me in the tracks for a minute. It took me a minute to remember who he was. [Laughs] And then I asked: “He’s that guy from ‘Teen Titans,’ the guy with the sword, right?” “Yeah, that’s him.” “OK, alright. Is he Black?” She said no. I said, “OK, keep talking.” Frankly, the idea intrigued me to write a villain. I really hadn’t written a villain as the major protagonist of a series before. I thought this could be an interesting challenge for me. I gave it some thought, and I called her back: “If I can write it this way — in a character-driven, introspective way, and get inside the character and examine him kind of the way we did ‘Black Panther’ — that would be a really interesting challenge. If it’s just going to be him running around killing people, that’s a little less appealing.”

HNNG

One of my biggest issues with EO was that I don't think it delivered on the visual panache it promised or shot for. And I think that also lead to people finding it boring.

That right there coupled with the baseball page are what there should have been more of. They got the imagery of Amazonia right but there was no dynamism with how man's world looked.

So I think that's a really good first step to making a WW OGN that resonates with people more.

See, I doubt that because from Deathstroke I get the feeling he wants to do stuff with characters that aren't iconic and have untapped potential. Why he wanted to work with that new Power Girl, etc and probably why he's doing an Inhumans book of all things.

LEGION might seem up his alley in that regard but I think he'd be put off by the relatively large amount of stuff there is to read.
