The idea of a 90s guy getting Current Year Future Shock is an interesting idea for a book/miniseries but Rocko will not show the full potential of the idea, due to Rocko still being a kids show (no matter how many Risqué moments it has) and Joe Murray's Liberalism

I mean yeah, they got all of the obvious jokes out in 2 minutes, so at least that won't be the total focus.
Animation here generally looks very good, just like it should now. Nothing to complain about, honestly. Even the iPhone 10 joke was kinda funny.

Even Rocko's is a bit different. The early seasons, his voice was higher pitched, "prone" to breaking and very lisp-y. Of course, that changed in the original run as well, but IMO the early season voice is what most people remember.

don`t know how i feel about all this.
On one hand, i just got a flood of nostalgia and was actually smiling throughout most of the video.
On the other hand, none of the jokes landed for me. All the jokes have either been done before or were just "look at this modern-era thing and how silly it is in the grand scheme of things" vibe. Maybe it was the fact i watched this as a kid, but was this show always full of cynicism for the era it was in?
I wouldn`t be surprised if there`s a whole episode on emoji`s or rocko and heffer learning how to dab. I`m fucking reading too much into this and the show hasn`t even come out yet. I agree, the animation is noticeably janky and weirdly smooth at different times, and yea they did seem pretty tame and kiddish in this, but I do recall seeing similar writing and stuff in a few episodes which is why I skipped some.

The way both of them said "yea rocko?" while looking at him weird was something that bothered me (because my image froze and I had time to think about what bugged me in the scene)

Honestly Rocko's was always about making fun of modern life, and making fun of iPods and 3D movies is expected. They're old jokes, but they could just be going for easy trailer jokes, like every other comedy movie trailer. Comic shops were everywhere in the 80s-90s. It's hard to find one now. The one I still go to really only does pulls now and is primarily a hobby shop for MtG and 40K. It was only 5-6 years ago primarily a comic shop that happened to sell MtG and 40K. That's what I got out of it anyway. Automation/Digital is taking over a lot of the brick and mortar business.
