The only thing this cat and Ross' cat have in common is the fur color.
Cat girls aren't uncommon so some of them looking similar shouldn't be a surprise at all.
Also, Ross' cat girl has a bunch of Megaman influences which makes her stand out, overall a great and original design if you ask me.

apparently ross is going so hard on animation recently that the ireland trip was because of burnout or something? I think it's safe to say that making a fully fledged animated show with close to no resources that has to compete with things like disney is a shitton more intense than touring some ebin video game songs and playing some vidya. Especially since he draws and storyboards the music videos to those songs.
