I actually really love this monologue but kinda wish they'd left out the whole "They'll never accept you/ You gave up your faith for them" angle.

I feel like emphasising that is in character because he's the type of dude to believe that salvation comes through his faith and that the abandonment of culture is the core of the problem, but since this was just a rant at the audience moment he could have done anything he wanted.

Germany had a significant muslim population 25 years ago, and was a lot less accepting of islam then, and had less terrorisim as well, for a concrete example.

That's exactly the problem with her as well as Kid Arachnid and Sam Alexander. Marvel tried way too hard to make them their Trinity and it fucked their characterization up because they were shoved into too much shit too fast. Ms. Marvel was an Avenger not even a year after her debut, which is almost no time at all comic time. Most major Avengers were around for years before being offered a spot on the team.

Look, this comic sucks. Not because Kamala is necessarily a bad character, but because:

1. She's written poorly
2. Her stories are boring
3. She's obviously a political mouthpiece for her writer
4. The art is foolish
5. Her creation itself is disingenuous and she was obviously created to be easy to cosplay

Kamala Khan isn't a character for comic book readers. She's a character for people who follow superheroes on twitter and go to comic-cons and participate in fandoms without reading the source material.

Islam is only incompatible with the West because it never "grew up" like Christianity. Christians built the West and over time realized basing an ever growing society off literal interpretations of the Bible wont work. Its why separation of church and state is a thing.

Anecdotally, I've heard it only really takes one. Kids rebel against their parents, and away from the influence of an entire culture telling them women are sluts if they don't cover themselves head to toe, it's hard to convince them to dress and behave significantly different from all their friends.

By the third generation, you've mostly got kids who identify as Muslim if they're asked, but follow literally none of the rules, except the most generic "love your brother" shit.

I'm from a muslim family, 3rd generation living in europe and my parents barely are muslims even if they say they were. It's more like being baptized and then you don't care about the rest.
