>You just got your ass kicked...
Time for the fourth annual K-A storytime.
Can you believe it has been that much time?
Let's go all the way back to the first adventure.
When a young idiot put on a wet suit to fight crime.
This is-
Kick-Ass Book One: The Origin of Kick-Ass
And here we go...
I usually subject this as a storytime of pain, but I figure y'all know that
Goddamn
Enter Kick-Ass, in his natural element.
So does Mark Millar actually loathe people who enjoy superheroes? It feels like this whole book is one big "fuck you" to everyone who's ever wanted to be Spider-Man or whoever.

>So does Mark Millar actually loathe people who enjoy superheroes? It feels like this whole book is one big "fuck you" to everyone who's ever wanted to be Spider-Man or whoever.
Nah, Millar himself enjoys superheroes.
This is Millar sorta going that "everyone who would take it to this extreme needs to grow up"
Seriously, Kick-Ass and everyone in this book is some form of psycho.
Which I think some people miss.
can't believe I ever liked this at one point in time.
Something about Millar's comics from this point on do nothing for me. They're glorified movie storyboards
You look like a dick, dude.
>>93989562
I used to like it as some sort of really kinda wry heroic thing.
Now I enjoy it because it's clearly about really flawed messed up people using violence as their outlet.
Not the best first outing...
I still call bullshit on what he says next.
Even his own subconscious hates him
>>93989481
Millar loves superheroes arguably more than anyone not named Liefeld
>>93989779
Aye, Kick-Ass...while not good, isn't railing on superheroes - or even comic fans.
Not at all.
Kick-Ass isn't meant to be an average comic reader, or the reader of this...
He's meant to be a goddamn moronic psycho.
Luckily YouTube is still around to not horribly date this.
I guess they kinda did, but they'd been starting it for years before Kick-Ass arrived.
You totally stole that name from the guy who recorded that vid, dude.
Oh, hey, Hit-Girl.
Time for these two weirdos.
While the film is arguably more entertaining, the comic always seemed more interesting and honest. The movie only comes across as superficially better. I think the perfect adaptation is somewhere in between the comic and the actual film.
>>93990500
I will always say the movie was a better movie for general audiences...but yeah it's pretty superficial and makes everything too wacky in lieu of that.
I think if they had cut the Hit-Girl subplot from the second movie, they'd be closer to the mark.
Oh Kick-Ass...you shmuck.
Enter: Red Mist
>>93990500
What I hated about the movie was how they went completely 180 on the whole pretend gay thing.
That minigun mounted pseudo jetpack out of fucking nowhere didn't help either.
>>93990778
Yeah, I mean - just bursting in there with swords, sticks, and some will played a lot better.
>>93990635
There's the connection with Millar's Marvel 1985.
>>93990841
Yup, which opens the door to F4 and OML and so on.

Reminder that Hit Girl is Best Girl.

>redkick mistass
the walking dead of t-shirts
>>93991409
Truly.
Goddamn it.
Yeah the two panels of narration never fail to get me.
Finally, we're back here.
That's drive
None too soon either.

Oh fuck, I forgot tunk had come around again.
Alright, that's one book down, 3 to go.
Tomorrow:
Hit-Girl!
See you around.
>>93992247
Thanks dave, kick ass is always a fun read
bump for reading
bumping for others
I think Millar is criminally underrated. Hes the vulgar auteur of comic books
>>93997349
I honestly think most of this series is pretty entertainingly made "cape-sploitation".
What a shit comic.
>>93998818
Care to elaborate on that Anon?
>>93998925
it's just edgy faggotry
millar basically sucks unless he's writing superman
>>94000626
lol ok you're a fag
>>94000626
>edgy
ok opinion discarded
>>93992198
I still like telling people that how the movie ended and the comic ended are different.
>>94001155
I still like bringing up the jetpack whenever someone says that the movie "cut out all the stupid shit"
>>93989518
Man, Dave's opinions are shit
>>93991998
How the fuck could anyone enjoy this absolute garbage
>>93992137
Seriously. Just straight-up iredeemible garbage.
>>94003259
kill yourself
>>94003279
I probably will by book #3 or so
>>94003259
>Seriously. Just straight-up iredeemible garbage.
If you think this is bad you're in for a ride this weekend.
>>94003636
Storytiming all of those comics in a row really just makes their impact so minimal.
