That's how you know this is The Good Timeline, anon.
>>
>>93989445
Oh wow, interesting. Xavier's mind is in the Astral Plane still. Gambit, Rouge and a nice twist. I am down to see what happens.
>>
Isnt Mystique supposed to be in this? couldnt Beast be Mystique?
>>
>>93989187
OH YEAH
>>
>>93989121
The X-babes are bastiches and somehow is everybody fucking with everybody and everybody hates everybody, so how does Rogue stan to Psylocke?
>>

Beast looks like a cat again?
>>
>>93989545
Lemme think...
did Psylocke ever fug Iceman? Cuz I think that would make her and Rogue eskimo sisters
>>
>>93989234
nice lead into the final panel. I like this art and colouring.

And I team up powers
>>
>>93989250

and to think Bishop was unusable a decade because they made him commit genocide. This is why character assasination is so bad.
Soule said he wont mention in any way all the millions of people Bishop killed. The idea must be most people forgot about it since its been long ago.
He could have been a good member of many teams this last decade.

I hope the same doesnt happen to Emma, although it looks like they want to continue using her, but as a villain.
>>
>>93989509
Good call. She is on the roster and on the covers for the next few issues
>>
>>93989509
Nicely done. Will make some interesting times when they catch that. Especially with Gambit and Rogue being on the team with her.
>>
>>93989364
This would be the best line up in many years, when they would call it "X-Force" and Deadpool would be instead of OML with them.
>>
>>93989250
I don't care if it's cliché as fuck, but I love rogue as the character that kisses people to use her power.
>>
>>93989509
Probably is Mystique Beast. He is not supposed to be here.
>>
>>93989264
would you a Rogue, Psylocke threesome? or a Bishop, Rogue one? I'm not one to judge
>>
>>93989577
Pretty sure, that Psylocked fucked every X-Men so far.

And Rogue, isn´t she supposed to be with Deadpool?
>>
>>93989603
Writers said the book is loose canon. The one when on did was kinda.

He doesn't want to write about evil crazy bishop and etc

>>93989868
Too bad. I liked that idea.
>>
>>93989885
Gambit and Rogue are the worst and most toxic ship that retconned Rogue into some whiny angsty teenager and him into a sleaze. They are better off single.
>>
>>93989885
its Mag-fucking-neato, get it right
>>
>>93989904
You must be new to X-Men comics if you think that. Stop using the Evolution cartoon and movies as facts based on her character or a ship you obviously did not read develop over the years. It is not toxic. Maybe you just do not know what toxic means when it comes to ships.
>>
>>93989364
I usually hate Fantomex, but I like the way Soule is writing him. Still in character but not as much an asshole.
>>
Daddy issues isnt creepy. Magneto Rogue is the best ship
>>
I want soule out of the X-Men
This issue was 100% garbage
>>
>>93989904
There's just no point in beating a dead horse that is this relationship. It may have been interesting and exciting once but in the later years all of that had worn out and it just became a complete mess. Just let it die already, it doesn't even have any dignity left. Only reasons to bring it back seem to be nostalgia for what it once was and because it's an iconic relationship. But those are not good reasons to bring a relationship back.
>>
>>93990053
Agreed. Pacing was shit. Dialogue was shit. The setup was shit.
>>
>>93989885
Agree. Anyone who states otherwise grew up on that shitty Evolution cartoon or the movies. Kids under 20 who havent even read the history they have.
>>93990019
Wrong. Pedophile relationships are gross.
>>
I think Rogue needs someone with a more serious personality, while Gambit needs that woman that show him who is the boss... and both are so identical to work...I think she will be better with the leader type of guy or someone really serious... she is not good with a guy that act as a kid... more because she is sometimes like a kid herself... that is why I see her with an older man...
>>
>>93990053
>>93990087
Hahahah. Here comes the shit posters who do not like the fact the majority of responses have been posisitve.
>>
>>93989965
I am based it on comics, especially post-Claremont Rogue who was a weaker, more pathetic version of the strong, sassy 80s one. I was fed up with their 'on and off again relationship', the secrets, the 'ah can't touch ya remy but ah want', the cheating, the angst. If I wanted to watch soap opera, I'd turn on tv. In short, both characters were detrimental to each other growth and they work better when they are off: Gambit being a ladies man who works on his own, and Rogue playing a hero or whatever.
>>
>>93990130
>positive
shilling is shilling.
Soule made his bed with shithumans, and he's not wanted here
>>
>>93990062
Gambit needs to move on from Rogue and find someone else. And Gambit and Psylocke would be great and is something that I have wanted for a long time.
>>
>>93990130
I'm stating my opinion, just like others have done in the thread. I don't particularly care for this, at all, and I found it to be shit, in general, but others liked it, which is okay, because liking something or not liking something is up to the individual. Now relax Marveldrone, no need to get your big girl panties in twist.

X-Men, and to a degree Daredevil, are the only things I keep tabs on at Marvel anymore. I've always been a DC guy, but those two properties will always be favorites. But, as usual, Marvel continues to shit on them.

Okay, so far so good. I am cautiously calling this the best current X-Men book. It feels like solid, classic stuff. Good art, good characterization, good roster. I'm on-board.
>>
I actually enjoyed it. Much better than most of the other ResurrXion stuff. Wish it didn't have Beast tho.
>>
>>93990506
Deapool is pretty solid.
Karnak and Foolkiller were the best,
Ultimates has a shit-line up, but the story is awesome and the team plays a small role (ironically).
>>
>>93990573
Really? Unless you mean the least shitty
>>
>>93990573
Uncanny X-Men was not this bad. It had much more potential, but they had solid issues.

The tragic end with Sarbetooth and Monet.

but I get your point. Duggan is alright, something about his writing turns me off but I understand why people like his books they are generally technically solid. Just something about his writing I don't like.

What makes it worse is that she chose Gambit after Gambit poured his hear out to her, and she immediately rejected him and went into the tent next door to fuck Mags while Gambit played basketball by himself outside, haha. He's so pathetic.

>>93994444

Well, you're not wrong. And only time will tell if this run is praised or forgotten about when it's cancelled in a year.

>>93994482

Ah, piss off. Just because someone's praising a decent book doesn't mean they're become cock gobblers. Go get your summer homework done, fag.
>>
IvX was corporate-mandated bullshit. Axel Alonso probably just handed Soule an outline and said "fill in the gaps, kid!"

I'm not expecting them to undo that stupidness yet, it's too soon. But at least this is a decent cast of X-Men in a (so far) decent comic and it's going to be "loose" continuity (meaning they'll let the writer actually tell a fucking story) so I can be guardedly excited.

I like that they're ignoring the assassination of Bishop by the coward Duane Swierczynski but don't like that they're seemingly ignoring what Bunn did with Angel in Uncanny.
>>
>>93989769
Also because he's cat Beast which I assumed was an artistic screw up.

Yes because someone cannot write a bad book and then evolve and do something well. Keep living in your cave of cynicism. When you die alone make sure to have someone delete your hard drive and give your comics away.
>>
>>93997877

You mean the one mutant that deserves to be killed for his actions over the last two years? Has beast been good is well over a decade? Did he get replaced by dark beast? because his behavior seems to constantly side with people trying to wipe mutants out.

a g-g-g-good x-book?

what in the fuck
>>
>>93999016
Half the book was just introducing characters. First issues aren't a good indicator of what the book will be like.
>>
>>93997962

His character did it. if another mutant was used that way, they would be the ones getting the hate.
>>
>>93999016

>Last X-book of the ResurreXtion relaunch
>Expect it to be OK at best, but probably bad
>It's a Shadow King story
>They're still trying to make Fantomex happen
>They're still trying to put Mystique on X-Men teams.
>Old Man Logan is in at least 3 different books now, it's like Wolverine never even died.
>So it's probably going to be bad.

>Enjoy reading it?

I was not expecting this at all, /co/.

This actually felt like a proper X-Men comic, and not in that going through the motions way Gold does.
>>
>>93990163
>If I wanted to watch soap opera, I'd turn on tv.
A huge part of the appeal of the X-Men has always been that it is basically a huge long running soap opera
>>
>>93999150
>His character did it.

You realize as a fictional character he has no agency of his own and will do whatever the writer wants him to regardless if it's not in line with all his previous characterzation right? Ergo if a character I liked very much suddenly becomes an asshole it's the writers fault for dragging them through the mud.
>>
>>93999226

Gold is a plain brainless bad comic. It is making me hate Kitty Pryde.
>>
I kinda hope Legion himself makes an appearance in this. Even though it would be pandering to tvfags, would still be cool.

Same reason people like rightclops even though they made him mutant hitler. He died defending mutants despite editorial shitting all over him.

Go cry bitch tears elsewhere. Your buttboy is a species traitor and deserves to burn.

>>

>>
>>94004088
Cassandra Nova *IS* Charles Xavier.
It's the old evil twin metaphor gimmick.
They used to have a "nightmare" of Chucky attack the X-Men every so often back in the day.
At one point those nightmares were retconned into an evil multiple personality.
Later on they did evil entity possessions, like that time he had a Brood queen in him.
Then there's always Onslaught ... but that gets blamed entirely on Magneto.
Morrison went in a different direction...
Since him there's been evil alternate reality Xaviers, alternate future timeline identical-twin-like evil heirs, and spooky hallucinations haunting Kurt and Ororo.
There's been shapeshifters, robots, ... no clone yet (?)
All these alternate excuses for why Xavier is -NOT- evil despite all these depictions of an Xavier being evil.
It's metaphorical for a big old wake-up call that Chucky is an evil bald prick and always has been.

>>94001761
>>94001787
That's not Scott's freakiness.
Close though.
Don't be too disappointed when you find out what it is.

But not every Mutant power metaphor is sexual:
Forge's was about rejecting his heritage, Mirage's was about embracing hers.
Bishop's was about violence and redirecting anger.
Xavier's was about dogmatic teaching. (Stan made him in the '60s era of counter-culture student revolts)
Jean was about valuing women for their minds. ('60s ... )
Angel was about the alienation of a blessed life and being seen as too perfect.
Beast was about ... okay, that one was sexual.

About Hank,

He's only a victim of character assassination if you can't see the logic behind his actions.
If you accept that his motivations have always been pure, and that he had perfectly reasonable reasons for everything that he's done, then there's no bad writing, intentional or not, that has in any way undermined his core character.

There's no reason to hate him or pretend that he's not really Hank McCoy anymore.
He can still be a sympathetic character even if he's made horrible mistakes.
>>
>>94006650
Some characters are ruined forever.
Hank is one of them
>>
>>94006896

No characters are ruined for ever. You just need to take the time to wash over the shitty stories with enough good ones and stop calling attention to the bad ones every time you want to force drama
>>
>>94007029
Damn shame it takes a lot of good to get rid of a short amount of bad.
>>
>>94007041

That I will not disagree with.
>>
>>93999011
If that was true then /co/ would have been saying Hope was right when Bishop's new retconned past was revealed. Hope is a psychopathic, slave-owning torturer with almost no moral compass, that was Mutant Hitler in his timeline. He is entirely right to think that killing her is an option but ended up using the wrong methods after Cable doused him with nerve gas and he went crazy.
Due to the way the multiverse works at no point is he ever incorrect to say that she's baby Hitler as in his timeline she is. In order for him to be wrong about his opinion he would have to outright not exist anymore.

The time traveler killing baby hitler quandary doesn't ask if maybe Hitler might turn out to be a nice guy when he grows up. It asks whether it's ethical to kill him before he does it.
>>
>>94006896
Don't think so.
He had good reasons for each of his mistakes.
Quitting the X-Men in protest of Rightclops' murder policies was to take a moral stand that didn't involve dropping a dime on Cyke. Why wouldn't that remind softy Cyke of who he used to be?
The tragic time-travel mess that brought us the O5 was supposed to be an old-school positive adventure like he remembered having all the time as a kid. How could he have known that he would destroy universes? Who would have guessed that the O5 would abandon Xavier's plans for them? Why wouldn't an original team time-travel adventure have a simplistic happy ending?
Working with the Inhumans wasn't a traitor thing, it was his being the mutant ambassador and scientific expertise to show the Inhumans that mutants sincerely wanted a peaceful solution despite Deadclops' call to war. How could he know that destroying the magic fart cloud really was the only way?

It's not his fault he has an insane dedication to Professor X's ideals of pacifism and a twisted idealism in regards to how the world works.
How was he supposed to know that writers no longer provide simple and innocent stories with neat resolutions?
If he was back in those early X-Men stories, or '80s Avengers stories, then his plans would have worked. But that's not his world anymore.
>>
>>94007201
Damn, I'm actually cool with current Beast now.
He hasn't changed at all, it's everything else that changed around him.
>>
>>93989215
Bishop can't really talk when it comes to killing people.
>>
>>94007230
... ... ... ... ... ?

Sarcasm doesn't translate well online.
Are you being serious?

>>94007277
Cop logic. Remember, he was the Judge Dredd type dystopia future cop.
>>
>>94007201
I personally find he also tends to reaction to the way things should actually happen but don't because writers refuse to consider the consequences of actions.
Take this issue where Gambit exploded a national monument in what basically would be considered a terrorist attack by half of Europe. We know that not a damn thing will probably come of it but Beast would actually get mad at Gambit and try to run damage control to lessen mutant hatred while lecturing Gambit.
Then everything would go horribly wrong and he'd be considered a race traitor for trying to stop a legitimate problem since the writers didn't care about making it actually happen.

Cyclops mutates millions of people against their will while obviously setting the planet on fire? Beast is horrified and justifiably scared for the backlash this would normally cause against a mutantkind that has no experience to defend itself with. Think of how most mutant origins go. They start with an angry mob. A large chunk of the new mutants should have ended up culled from taking the blame for AvsX right off the bat.
Writers do nothing with it so he's clearly a race traitor.

Beast keeps on getting more and more paranoid since nothing happening means there's a secret villain plot behind all this.
IvsX comes along and he does the whole peaceful solution thing since clearly this is actually a plot to make X-men and Inhumans fight each other by a nefarious 3rd party villain that mutants and inhumans must team up to overcome. Nah. it was just Emma going crazy and the inhumans really were genocidal maniacs all along.
Beast has a really bad problem with not adapting to the new status quo.
>>
>>94007624

well this is really my whole point. With even a little shift in tone any one of these events changes drastically but the writer wants beast to look like an asshole? He looks like an asshole.
>>
>>94007201
tl;dr
>>
>>94007708
This whole thing makes me want to write a surrealist comic where it turns out that Beast is slowly acquiring 4th wall powers and it's driving him mad since he can see how ridiculous the world is getting as he struggles in vain to keep to the way things "should be."
>>
>>94007780
that was basically the motivation for one of Gwenpool's villains, a doombot that lost all its ambition due to an accident, so all the genius of doctor doom without the megalomaniacal filter of doom was going insane with how stupid the marvel world of superheroes is
>>
>>93988986
