What are the chances that this is actually an Abe Sapien movie?
>tfw no mute gf
>>93986577
Was it supposed to be an Abe Sapien movie or something?
Doubtful it's an Abe Sabien movie, but Del Toro often uses elements from one of his projects in another.
For example, the design of vampires in Blade II are similar to the vampire designs in The Strain.
Don't get your hopes up for a Hellboy spinoff movie. Get your hopes up for a Creature from the Black Lagoon movie.
>>93986577
>Looks similar to Abe
>Both likes eating eggs
It's not.
>>93989039
Both are using the same actor too. Doug Jones.
But totally not a movie about Abe Sapien. Nope.
>>93986577
>human female X monster male
Damn it, that's the opposite of what I want.
>>93989190
Women aren't allowed to look like monsters unless they are for killing. There's no basis for attraction to most men.
the movie looks great
>>93989190
I honestly would love ahuman male x monster malemovie
>>93989062
He plays almost all the monsters in his movies
>it's the same gillman like design instead of something more interesting or different
>>93989331
Same here
>>93989190
As a person with a fetish for hot monster guys, this is exactly what I want.
>>93986577
Holy shit, I'm interested now
>eggs
Even if they never explicitly acknowledge it, this is an Abe movie. I don't have a single doubt about it.
>>93986577
How the hell is this /co/ related?
I thought it was the Aquaman trailer faggot
>>93990432
>Aquaman
I know he's all about fish and fish-related things but come on....
>>93989062
I dunno how many actors there are out there that specialize in playing mermen.
>>93990432
Did you not actually read the OP before replying, you newfag?
And if you did and didn't know who OP was talking about (or thought he meant Aquaman because you're just that fucking casual) when he said Abe Sapien, you could have just googled it and learned that he's talking about another comic character that does resemble the monster in this movie somewhat.
Just, please, use your brain and think just a tiny bit before you post if you don't want to look like a retarded whiny faggot. Or just leave.
>>93989254
>to most men
>>93986577
Doubt it. Aside from some superficial similarities, it just seems like a beauty and the beast type of love story.
>>93990432
dude, Hellboy has been in pop-media for years now, how do you not know about this.
>>93986577
Zero. The creature's design is radically different from Abe Sapien's in from both comics and movies, so no way. Del Toro usually uses elements from his previous movis as references, and Dough Jones is the actor under the make up here and in Abe, so it's inevitable that similarities in movements and expression appear.
I'm sincerely hyped for this. It's the kind of thing in which Guillermo del Toro shines.
I'll never forgive Mignola for what he did to Guillmero
>>93991933
what happen?
>>93989254
Maybe we could try to make characters that aren't created solely to be attractive to the maximum amount of people? And maybe a couple of those not maximally attractive characters could be allowed to happen to be female? Is that so much to ask?
>>93991603
EGGS
>>93993155
He's butthurt that Mignola moved onto a different director rather than a third Hellboy movie that was never going to happen anyway
>>93986577
I'm like 75% sure it's a stealth prequel like Split was for Unbreakable.
Even if it's not, unless he goes out of his way, inside the movie itself, to make it clear it's not set in the Hellboy universe, I'm gonna consider it a sequel anyway.
>>93991384
>>93991537
How the fuck does this movie having a character resembling a /co/ character make it /co/ related? It has nothing to do with Hellboy you dumb bastards. It's not /co/ related.
>>93993796
OP's question is /co/ related even if he's entirely wrong in his assumption.
Also OP being wrong or even the thread being unrelated doesn't change the fact that >>93990432 is an idiot for not reading the OP, not looking up who Abe Sapien is, and for assuming the thumbnail in OP must be related to Aquaman because "durr, it's underwater, there's literally no other underwater /co/ material! better call OP a faggot for tricking me into watching it and getting my hopes up for another muh liveaction capefag movie!"
>>93993796
It's not like there aren't The Creature from the Black Lagoon comics anyway.
>>93989331
"I want a gay monster movie."
Try the artsy Cthulhu one then.
>>93994152
Was that a gay movie with monsters or a movie with a gay monster?
>>93989331
Yeti: A Love Story.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKDfkjBjsakI'm sorry.
>>93993224
>Is that so much to ask?
In Hollywood it is.
>>93989190
I was going to mention the movie Splice had a female monster-thing having barn sex but she still looked pretty human.
>>93993705
>like Split was for Unbreakable.
what now
>>93995750
I mean if anything it's a stealth sequel
>>93988717
>Doubtful it's an Abe Sabien movie, but Del Toro often uses elements from one of his projects in another.
>Likes Eggs and Classical music
>same actor
>takes place in the 1960s ,when the BPRD is already established
>From the comics we already know that it's possible for Abe's appearance to change
>That drawing looks especially like Abe from Hellboy
Mignola/BPRD movie universe please!
Still waiting for that haunted mansion movie del toro
>>93986577
I am getting really strong slan moore necronomicon vibes from this
>>93996692
HOOOOOORD
>>93996447
Morpheus' video library in the Dream Land has a whole section devoted to the films Del Toro attached himself to and were never made.
>>93996937
*Dreaming
>>93986577
>Tfw thought it was The Creature from the Black Lagoon in the theatre
>>93996447
Still waiting for mountains of madness, but shit aint never gonna happen.
At least we got pacific rim.
>>93989190
>tfw my fetish will never go mainstream
>>93986577
looks solid
>>93988717
Yeah looking at what we can see of this fish monster next to how Abe looks, pretty obvious difference
>>93997139
You have it all to yourself
>>93996848
HOOOORD
>>93997139
Yet its the driving force that will take man to the stars.
>>93997998
SPLOOGE..!
>>93986577
digging the whole bioshock vibe.
and now I want him to do a bioshock movie but we all know he has bad luck with vidya
>>93997998
You could probably edit that picture to suit the movie if you put an asterisk in the speech bubble and changed the hair color.
>>93998606
Damn it, I forgot that we'll never get a Bioshock movie
>>93986577
If this isn't Abe I'm going to be so angry.
>>93999732
Doesnt look like Abe
>>93999836
>>93996343
the eggs and music things are exclusive to the movies, aren't they?
i think del toro already had a fish husbando oc when he got the hellboy gig, then he just projected his oc's traits onto abe
>>93989062
Doug Jones was El Fauno as well, he's in most of Del Toro's movies
>>93999923
I thought he was the Pale Man
>>94000205
He was both
>>93986577
Right!
That's the first thing that came to mind as I watched this
>When the trailer literally gives away the entire plot, including the deaths of important characters.
Every time I tell myself I have to just stop watching trailers, or only watch like the first minute, and every time I don't listen to my own advice.
>>93986577
I swear I thought it was an Abe movie. And I thought an Abe movie was announced a long time ago.
>>93996997
It pretty much is in everything but name.
>>93986577
>What are the chances that this is actually an Abe Sapien movie?
Looks more like a rebooted Creature from the Black Lagoon; only we know that it's NOT because that'd be Universal's "Dark Universe."
Although with their track record it seems like maybe they should have gotten Del Toro to helm The Mummy ( and ditched Tommy C ) because this shit:
2004 Van Helsing
2010 The Wolfman
2014 Dracula Untold
2017 The Mummy
Is like watching Marble relaunch the Inhumans over and over again. It's just sad.
>>94000297
>Every time I tell myself I have to just stop watching trailers
Yeah: I literally just turned it off as soon as she saw the thing in the tube ( which is already almost certainly the first 20 - 30 min of the movie ).
Looks good.
>>93993155
The whole plot with the angle the Liz/hb romance was going was retarded
>>93986577
>this could be called Creature from the Black Lagoon
>Del Toro could be in charge of the Universal Monsters instead of Kurtzman
>there’ll never be a cinematic Universal Monsters universe with Del Toro serving as the Feige equivalent producing films with an unparalleled horror aesthetic and strong emotional core
