I loved this issue. Of course the Kent family would have a patriotic 4th of July vacation.

>>93981560
>want to look at the stars and make out
perfect
>>
>>93981373
Well that was wholesome as fuck

Shame it got pushed back from its initial July 5th release because this would've been a perfect supplement for Independence Day
>>
>>93981557

Giving John the lessons he needs so that he can he understands when its his turn.
>>
>>93981505
Yes.

Literally last week I was reading Wolfman's Superman he there's one story where he gets fucked for not sleeping for days.
>>
>>93981533
Okay, now it's gotten too cheesy. I work at a restaurant, and I shouldn't be agreeing with the hostess more than Superman. Superman of all people. Now I feel bad for doing my job.
>>
>>93981653

Do that shit off page. I read Superman to see Superman do... you know, super things. Not masturbate with the stars and stripes. Even Captain America doesn't splooge this hard into Uncle Sam's open mouth.
>>
>>93981674
That's what Action Comics is for, mate.
>>
>>93981674
>>93981557
This makes you sound extremely shallow
>>
>>93981668
I won't you let the guy eat at your restaurant?
>>
>>93981668
Is it because he was begging or do people get upset about handicap people?
>>
>>93981691
Also the 26 issues that came before this. Well, maybe not the one where they go to the county fair, but pretty much every other Superman issue before this has had some kind of monster punching in it.
>>
>>93981751
I really like Tomasi's penchant for fun cooldown issues in between arcs. He did the same thing in Super Sons with the last issue and it was great.
>>
This issue was great, Superman and Action have been such great reads since rebirth never been much of a Supes fan before either
>>
I fucking hate jon, every superman book focuses on him and he's so annoying
>>
>>93981748
Depends on the restaurant.

>>93981499
Since when is an Ankh a wiccan symbol,

That shits ancient egyptian, maybe pagan if you want to be creative.
>>
>>93981504
Skipping leg day, eh, Clark?
>>
>>93981837
Never heard of that one. I knew some new age people used it back in the day. Coptic Egyptian use it for their cross in some cases.
>>
>>93981572
Is this setting up for the seven soldiers?
>>
>>93981748
Probably because he is a hobo. I've seen restaurants refusing to serve hobos.
>>
>>93981557
well then Superman was never for you
>>
>>93981424

Everything about this page fills me positivity and good emotions. I forgot what they where called. Happ..something.
>>
Comfy issue. Why is Supes so comfy bros?
>>
>>93981837
Wiccan is basically just an amalgam of multiple pagan traditions. The Ankh is one of several commonly used symbols. A big part of wicca is freedom to worship whatever you want and how you want.
>>
>>93981674
Truth, Justice and what was that third one again fucko?
>>
>>93981668

Why? So long as the guy doesn't cause a scene it shouldn't be an issue

TL;DR timefuckery and they were outside the DCU when Jon was born. There was some weird stuff with Rebirth where it was revealed Superman was split in two (New 52 version and "Post-Crisis") but that's been sorted out and Clark is whole again.
>>
>>93982046
lul, it's real
>>
>>93982073
>Pre-Flashpoint Lois and Clark appear in "Convergence".
>Clark has lost his powers and is acting as a vigilante in one of Brainiac's bottled cities. Lois acts as his Oracle.
>Powerless Clark knocked Lois up. She is 9-months pregnant when we first see her.
>After Convergence, Pre-Flashpoint Lois and Clark are the only things that DC recognizes from the event. Jurgen's writes a mini explaining how they ended up in the New 52 world and have been living there for 10 years raising their son.
>New 52 dies, Pre-Flashpoint Clark becomes the main Superman in "Rebirth"
Basically.
>>
>>93981557
Superman being a dad is the theme of this series. Good dad's teach their kids.

If you want Action, read Action Comics. It's actually kinda fun.
>>
>>93981517
>It's treason then.
*spins*
>>
>>93982130
New 52 didn't really "die", they were the same person.
>>
>>93981889
They definitely do that around here. They might have tossed in the Coexist thing for the lefties, but this scene was a American heartland right as it gets. Read this after a week of Marvel SJW shit and get the stench outta your mouth.

Well, it's not like they were the established army trying to defend their own coutnry you were unlawfully invading or anything, Ryan
>>
>>93982139
Can Superman hold a third book? I would like to see "Action Comics" as the Metropolis book (Lex, Perry, Jimmy and all that), "Superman" mainly focused on solo adventures and a third book focused on Lois and Jon.

Back in the 90's Supes had, like, five books of his own. More than any other character.
>>
>>93982215
it's not just 2 its also supergirl and superwoman and chink superman and trinity and super sons and jl

>>
>>93982232
Yeah, but I'm talking about Clark as a protag.

Back in the day he had "Action Comics", "Superman", "Adventures of Superman", "Superman: the Man of Steel" and "Superman: The Man of Tomorrow", plus Superboy, Supergirl and all that.
>>
>>93982232

>>93981557
Its a special, like Christmas and Halloween, they will probably go back to the usual stories after it
>>
>>93982068
That's Tomasi in a nutshell. He tries to write character driven stories without any character development.
>>
>>93982086
Not really. This isn't about connecting with the common people, it's preaching to your kid about history on a roadtrip.
>>
>>93981557

>>
>>93982185
They don't want hobos getting invited inside because:

1 - Their presence can throw some clients off.
2 - They don't want hobos in front of the restaurant begging people to get them inside.
>>
>>93982172
topkek
>>
>>93981557
Then go read Action Comics you fucking Numpty. I am loving these family based stories.
>>
Damn that was comfy as fuck.

Maybe my second favorite issue of the entire run after #7, and I'm not even American and usually hate their patriotic shit. I just love seeing them all as a family doing family stuff.

>mfw if this was a Marvel book it would've been about Jon lecturing his dad on how the buildings were built by slaves so he refuses to go in
>>
>>93981557
Look, I get the feeling, but you don't have reason to complain. He is fighting Zod, Mongul, Cyborg Superman, Metallo and Eradicator at the same time in "Action Comics". You can't go bigger than that.
>>
>>93982215

Yeah he could probably hold a third book. What would you do to make it distinct though? Superman covers the family life, Action is fittingly for Action. Should we bring back Adventure Comics?
>>
>>93982422

Well it's not anything that's uniquely american. Respect your forefather's sacrifices, don't be a dick to the guys fighting etc. Those kind of lessons are pretty universal. It's just a guy wanting to give his son a good sense of morals.
>>
>>93981870
Could be bringing back Unknown Soldier.

i'm fairly anti-american, but the values this comic promote are universally valued traits like hardwork, courage, responsibility and respecting those who sacrifice in service, however misguided their attempts might have been. it's not like superman is helping the cia topple a foreign government.

Action Comics brah. This issue was meant to come out during the 4th obviously and was a breather issue after Supes basically spent 4 issues punching shit like you wanted. After this he's teaming up with Sinestro and then going to Apokolips with Lex.
>>
>>93981505
There's also that sequence in Our Worlds At War where he's been fighting for days nonstop and is weirdly responding to comments with out of context answers, like drilling right through an Imperiex drone as he's saying "Superman doesn't kill."

Speaking as someone in Washington DC, you don't get "hobos who fought in the war" here. You get hobos with either A) severe mental problems who are a danger to themselves and others and B) hobos who are perfectly healthy and would literally rather prefer to stand out in the rain holding a sign than actually have a job. Not even being edgy or /co/ when I say this - I'm a librarian and work around these people daily. Some folks really will do ten times the work it takes to get out of work that could be done easier in the first place.
>>
>>93981505
>>93983777
There was at least one Silver Age story that shows that even though he doesn't tire physically, going for too long without sleep can mess with his head anyway.
In that particular story, the result of Superman going without sleep for so long was a temporary split personality that kept trying to kill Clark Kent.
>>
>>93981513
This is interesting in the face of groups working to tear down Confederate statues.
>>
>>93981544
Sigh. I'm very pro-vet, but the last 20-years or so of wars have been so awful, it's conflicting. I guess that isn't a /co/ issue though.

...and they were all bombed out of their minds the WHOOOOLE time.

The area was in the midst of a massive heat wave at the time, and pretty much every beverage one could partake in as the only way to cool down (aside from stripping down once you got back to your room at night) was highly alcoholic.

So pretty much every signee of the DoI was at least 3/4 drunk the entire time they were there.

History!
>>
>>93983854
Really? Neat. I brought up infinite energy because the Gardner Fox JLA story about the league fighting their robot clones had Superman beat his clone by racing it to death-the explanation saying that eventually with enough time anything will break down except Superman who never gets tired.

>>93981557
There's room for both, but not when it's poorly written in-your-face pandering to people who use the word "comfy" as a designation of quality. This issue might be better than the grimdark edginess that's around, but it's just as hollow and obvious.
>>
>>93984490
FRANKLIN NEEDS MORE PUSSY!!
>>
>>93984391
i mean yeah, that's one of my main issues with comics, it's ok when comic book history mirrors our up until a certain point, but contemporary happenings still happening in a world where the jla exists is just bizarre.
>>
>>93984605
I thought it worked. Just because a scene elicits positive emotions and makes you happy doesn't mean its shallow Anon.

How was the issue shallow?
>>
>>93981373
Nice cover.
>>
>>93984758
It read like an old government mandated PSA. Positive emotions are fine, especially with Superman, but without a story to weave them into it just comes off as pandering.
>>
>>93981394
The regular cover is actually better than the variant cover this time.
>>
>>93984832
The story was them taking Jon on a vacation while educating him about America. The didactic bits fit the context of a mother and father educating their kid.

>>
>>93981479

>>
Has Lois Lane done anything as a reporter since Rebirth?

All I've seen has been Mom and Momma Bear stuff alternating. Like, I like that she and Clark seem to be co-leads... but it's not like Clark is only being Superman for Dad-Related purposes.
>>
>>93981560
Can he drink now? Did that dumb editorial mandate get shut down?

Good.
>>
>>93984850
And that's an obvious and boring story that would only make sense if the book was about educating its young audience.
>>
>>93981557
I kind of like this issue. It's a breather after the heaviness of the last arc which involved lots of monsters and meteors
>>
>>93984909
She's waiting to get back to metropolis. She tried joining the local paper in the Frankenstein issues and they were in Metropolis at the Planet in.... I forget which issue. Might even have been Super Sons. But she's stuck on the wrong side of the country from her traditional employer and they've been getting read to head back to metropolis since rebirth began. Though, even if it's been a irl year, I don't think it's been more than a few months in Hamilton.

JLA can't exactly intervene in country politics. They act neutral until a clear threat to the world emerges. If they start enforcing their will to maintain peace we slowly become squadron supreme earth or injustice regime.

That's why the league ended up having bylaws and what not and a proper UN approved JLA charter to deal with world politics.
>>
>>93983692
Not him but last week was a breather issue with fill in art and writing. Jime's 10/10 cover was the only reason to buy it.

American soldiers are not conscripted anymore, you can choose whether to join the army and sign up for taking part in wars or not. They consciously decide to take on that risk themselves.

I feel like Superman would be the best "aid deliverer" the UN could ever hope for. Flash too. Just sprint/fly in to the war zone. Nobody is threatening them at gun point to hand over the aid meant for the civilians. And if they do it becomes a very quick war ender.

I think if either big 2 had any sort of balls they would be looking in to Syria and that situation instead of what the Capes would do under trump.

What does superman do when Assad is gassing his own people? Does he allow that to happen because it's a state-level problem? Or does he simply blast in grab the fucker throw him in a jail somewhere and try to save the people who've been poisoned?

As a fellow cityfag, this sums it up:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmr-NRCbnus

I think it's totally admirable to be sympathetic to the homeless, I always feel great when I see people helping them. But I also don't blame people who just ignore all of it, because when you see it a hundred times a day, both people who need help and people who are just scummy, it's hard to have faith anymore.

And that said, I don't even blame scummy people for panhandling instead of getting a job. A panhandler typically makes more than fucking minimum wage.

Typically because they have no money to pay with, but the begging thing happens. Some old woman will sneak in and start begging each table for change, which "disturbs the guests" and cannot be tolerated. I've served homeless people who are totally lucid and not an issue at all, and I've served crazy people who have a system set up where their not-crazy friend comes in afterwards and pays their bills. But sometimes you get the people who don't pay, have no excuse, and the managers will bar from entering the restaurant again for.

You can't blame any of these guys for leading such a rough life, but at the same time, I have a job to do. If someone is barred from our restaurant, I'd hope it's for a good reason.
>>
>>93985505
Is there really no middle ground between "can only fight space aliens" and "full Authority?".

>>93985738
The problem is that people think of superhumans as weapons and not what they are-living gods.

Attacking the mid-east doesn't work in real life because it's culture/IQ/religion/whatever doesn't allow it to be rebuilt into a functional society like post-WW2 Japan and Germany. There's no "good side" to prop up into power once the bad guys are dead. All you do by shooting the bad guys in charge is to destabalize the region and flood Europe with violent refugees that can't integrate.

But superhumans have other options.

Superman can literally just take all the guns away and chuck them into the sun. If nothing else it'll make the mid-east's routine blood baths a lot less bloody when everyone has to go back to using swords. Green Lantern can generate another entire planet for refugees to live on. Any one of them can fly into Mecca and say "You know what? Allah isn't shit. I've hung out with real gods and even beaten a couple of them up. The only God that likes what you're doing to yourself is Darkseid."

Then just teleport Orion and Friends in with a boom tube and teach them about The Source.

Who the fuck is going to want to be a Wahabist after meeting The New Gods face to face?

I remember Warren Ellis satirized his own Authority Pitch in Black Summer. "You're the smartest superhuman in the world and the best way you could think of using your powers to help the world was by doing a hit?"

There are more options than "we can't do anything" and "Brutally murder the regime in power and tell everyone to behave".
>>
>>93987640

Jihad was independent/for hire iirc
>>
>>93987876

>>93987866
>Who the fuck is going to want to be a Wahabist after meeting the New Gods?

Zauriel the actual angel of God's choir is on the JLA and Specter the Wrath of God is on the JSA.

Shouldn't the fundamentalist Muslims worship American Superheroes for being the only groups that get to be friends with actual angels of God?

Like if Zauriel floats down on Mecca and says "no really guys cut it out" what are the Immans going to say? That he's faking it? The guy with real wings and a real flaming sword?

Jimenez has quickly become one of my favorite artists. And thats not a consequence of the recency. His art just hits the right notes for me. I've thoroughly enjoyed his work on Sons as well as the covers he does on.

ma and pa couldn't afford it, and even if they could, they lived in an era where america and being american, especially in the countryside, were good things. jon is growing up at least partially in a metropolitan area, 30 years after his dad, and will almost definitely be surrounded by many anti-american voices, which isn't necessarily bad, but for clark and lois, one being the embodiment of american ideals and the other an army brat and a good journalist, it's important for him to be as aware of the good things that make up america as possible.
>>
>>93988407
Absolutely. Not gay, doesn't really matter, but it kinda geeked me out when I saw he had an insta after he posted a preview page and saw a selfie of the dude. Granted, I was stereotyping, but I didn't expect the guy drawing Lois as a super cutie to be the type to pull super cutie puss.

I mean, yeah, there have been some family moments and even issues but it seems even in the issues where there are monsters to beat up it gets looked over by cynics simply because clark has a son and kissed his wife before he flies off.

What makes Superman who he is, is that at least a third of the stuff he does is stuff that anyone can do. "Anyone can be Superman if they look out for others" has been a core part of the series for longer than I've been alive.

I just don't understand how this book is too "comfy" for some just because of maybe 4 or 5 (literally just the fillers) out of 27 issues being family-centered and the "exciting" issues happen to have stable family moments as well.

It almost feels like they'd prefer reading Byrne Supes. Which isn't such a problem but there's AC for brawls at the moment.

Both of you are only partially right.

Originally Jon was born due to Coverngence and outside of the timeline. However DC retconned it and merged Superbro and Superdad together, making a new timeline.

New Timeline is this:
>Clark arrives at Metropolis and does everything the same as post crisis Superman
>After doomsday kills him things change a bit
>Upon Resurrection he adopts the trunkless costume we all know and tolerate
>Superman marries Lois just like in post crisis stories
>The divergence is she gets preggers I believe due to some tech in the Fortress of Solitude
>Justice league is present for the birth of Jon
>Superman retires to raise his family for the next 10 years

It's also a nice break. It doesn't have to go from this arc to that arc. Normal life isn't like that, and unless these were movies (it's more like a series) there's a place and a thing to be said for space/breathing room.

You could be reading the first two volumes of Earth One Superman, where Shane Davis DID each and every single close up face 'from the side.' It's especially annoying when Clark is being Superman, especially since it's the classic uniform.

Trinity is in the Superman Editorial office, partially because Superman/Wonder Woman was there, although it is just as much replacing Batman/Superman as well.

But Justice League is a team book, it's not really Super Family. It could just as easily really focus on Mera (and by extension Arthur) as the last two issues have, or focus on the Lanterns, etc., etc.

You're right about the rest.

>>93982215
>>93982256

Superman was also selling like 500K copies of Jimmy Olson and Lois Lane, not to mention Adventures or Superboy, Supergirl, and his own books.

They could easily have a mini, either in universe, or something like The Coming of the Supermen, or American Alien.

>>93982257
I haven't read past the first arc, but the dynamic with Steel, Natasha and other aspects can make it interesting. I just don't think the Lena story was really that interesting or novel - it read like bad fan fiction - and the art was just awful. It just needs a better writer.

Also nope

I don't think they are ever going to get into any details about Jon's conception. If they didn't address in the Manchester Black BS, they likely won't have any reason to raise it in the future and will just let it slide without a seriously detailed explanation as one could presume from the events of Convergence L&C #1 and #2.

Final page reaffirming Superman's public retirement while he worked in secret all bearded out. He then returns to fight Ulysses apparently for some strange reason, and the whole true identity thing never was exposed since Lois was never written horribly and didn't need to expose it

Basically what i said in my original post. That this is not Superdad from the post crisis comic we read, but his life and Superbros kinda merged together into a new timeline. Basically a lot of what Grant Morrison wrote and action comics with superbro in general never happened. No Lois being with another man, no Clark getting that wonder puss. That was erased sloppily, but none the less.

I had a similar question in another thread about superman a few weeks ago. An anon basically said for Lex it would makes sense if he took on the mantle of Superman after he went into retirement, people might have assumed him dead or gone.

OK - I stand corrected.

Why fuck you? Obviously I missed those, once past the first two arcs of Re-Birth I got busy with other stuff, so I have all those floppies but really haven't read them and probably won't till the trades come out. So you educated me and you also correctly answered the various anons who are curious.

The last thing I was going by were the things in the Actions that Jurgen's wrote in the Superman Reborn mini, where some of these same things were covered (e.g. Perry being the god father, the baby born in the fortress, yadda yadda, just without all this explanation dump and commentary).

Since Grant did (per editorial and suits) kill of Jonathan and Martha prior to Clark even coming to Metropolis (and thus never meeting Lois), and there are a few other details, I don't think they actually rewashed all the New 52 out. I mean, they are then retconning some of the 8 issues of Jurgen's from Arrival as well? Such as Lois and Clark watching New 52 Clark with the league battling Darkseid. And it means Trinity War happened without Clark, yadda yadda.

But thanks for doing this. I'll have to go out and read the entire issue myself.
>>
>>94002687

In the first arc, they come from Superbro. They do come from a suit, but they mimic the other powers. I haven't read the new arc but I probably will give it a shot since I like the relationship with Steel, Natasha, etc.

It was fun, in the way that combat is fun. Strait on action, pretty clear cut. Proper soldiering, rather than the counter insurgency I dealt with for the next 7 years.

They'll just claim he's some fucker from Thanagar that looks funny and wants to fuck with them. People will find any excuse to continue doing what they do. A light show, some cool nifty powers and such won't change that many opinions in a world where they can just say it's all one type of bullshit or the other without sacrificing what they believe in. I mean, would that many people in real life believe Zauriel or just think he's full of shit?
>>
>>94007128
I real life you don't have people that can actually do magic tricks.

I mean if Superman said The New Gods are real and shit all over Allah and then Orion and friends come through the Boomtube bringing Mother Boxes that tap directly into the Source who are Muslims going to believe:

Group A composed of angels, gods, agents-of-gods, that can do the feats in the Quran and then some who have several dark gods and universal threats under their belts.

Or

Group B composed of a couple of swarthy priests with beards and robes who cannot do magic, the feats from the Quran, and have never saved the world

Muslims would have to be the most retarded people on Earth to back the group that can't do a single miracle over the guys that carry miracle causing god Ipods in their pockets.
>>
>>94007234
Look at how people deal with evolution. All the evidence supports it, but you take it and push it into someones face and plenty will angrily reject it and accuse you of propagating a conspiracy. They'd bend reality to be a test, or a representation of allahs will or some shit. Like when you get a muppet who says "thank god for curing me of x." Then claim that the doctors, decades of science, the system that has developed to help individuals survive, is just how Allah works his will.

Though tbqh I agree with you in general. The emergence of actual metaphysical individuals, be it via science (Superman) or Magic (Zatanna) or a different Patheon (Wonder Woman), they would all be seismic in their effect upon human society.

Is sweet tea a midwest thing too? Jon himself is a californian (I think that's where Hamilton is, right?) Clark is a midwesterner and Lois I actually can't recall where she spent the brunt of her time as a brat if I'm being honest.

Being that I am a yank but spent much time in the south I'm familiar with the phrase but not so much in how far it spreads west. Also, I did note a distinct difference in the amount of "sweet" between southern sweet tea and the shit we have up here. Though that could be more recipe/cultural taste wise. People on here can spend time writing a long explanation and, from experience of several years, you are often typing for yourself or for another person. "Nope" is just easy short hand. I did not say he was incorrect in every thing he was writing. I said he was not correct in what I believed to be (and was, in point of fact, the cast up to and including the finale of Superman Reborn as the issue he points to is one issue post those. And one not marked as an epilogue, just as a one-off issue. We'll see how DC ends up collecting them in a trade whether that's included with the Superman Reborn, since some of that other post-SR story arc is elsewhere (e.g. in Supergirl and Super Woman) as well.

This is actually the premise of a Superman story I want to write. A Big Bad with awesome power offers Clark "more time with them, in exchange for your time" bringing back Pa and Ma... But Superman's body/time/soul is the also the Big Bads...

>"And I can take it in whatever quantity I want it. If I want you in seconds, minutes or hours I'll take it. But no harm will come to your parents in this time period.

>Well, Kal-El? What are they worth to you?"
>>
>>94018779
>Superman's body
So you want Superman chained in a sex prison?
>>
>>94019056

Ha, body as in possession. As in Superman's in the middle of saving someone or doing something with the Justice League or some big critical moment and his left eye turns all white and his right eye turns all black and he just flies away. Superman never remembers what he does or where he goes when this happens. Any attempt at following him or reasoning with him like his is meet with futility. It could be a few moments, it could be a few days.
>>
>>93981557
You're right I mean what's so funny about truth, justice and the american way?
>>
>>94010551
I've been reading Golden Age Superman stories, and I actually have a hard time seeing him as a conservative, even going back to that point. There's a great issue in Action Comics #8, I think, where he he catches some kids doing petty crimes and makes the statement that their environment is what led them to this, so he ends up knocking down their shitty run down apartment building so that new government funded housing can be built with better amenities. And that's from 1939. There's a pretty strong progressive/social justice bent throughout the character's history.
>>
>>94019473
This would have to be really out of character for Superman to accept any time. The whole point of the character is making sacrifices. He would never risk the life of his currently alive family to allow a villain to control him. Now maybe if the villain threatens Jon or Lois, he might consider this in order to save them.

Superman's biggest weakness is his greatest strength, his love for Lois and now Jon. He is able to always push harder in certain situations since him failing could result in their death. However if a villain were to kill them... well what happens next depends on the writer. Some have him go the whole Kingdom come route, others Emperor Superman.
>>94010551
Farmers being conservative in this day and age confuse the fuck out of me, I understand why in the past but government subsidies is a Liberal thing. As for Superman wasn't there a comic about this back in like 2008 or something? To me Superman has both qualities of liberal and conservative.

Actually I found the comic. Supreman never says what political party he supports and instead gives this speech on why he wont share.

"It would be unconscionable of me to share [my endorsement] with you," he explained. "Whoever is elected to the highest office in the land should not think that they will not have our full support. That our allegiances are stronger with a defeated candidate. We don't take sides. The battles we fight are larger than those on the political spectrum. It would pain me to think the president would believe that he or she couldn't count on us, turn to us, or rely on us."

>To me Superman has both qualities of liberal and conservative.
4chan is absolutely not the place I'd want to have the discussion, but I think there could be some really compelling cases for both. I tend to think he'd fall on the liberal side because of that generally progressive bent to his character/history, but I could also see him in the compassionate conservative mold. Not so much modern Tea Party conservatism though.

I wish they didn't ditch Hamilton.

I agree 100 percent. His upbringing and his personality is very Republican "Truth Justice and all that stuff". I hope I triggered a lot of people with that line.

But his actions are very liberal. He stands up for the little man who cannot fight for himself, he is willing to sacrifice his happiness for others well being. Tough call and I will point out the quote I just posted>>94020806 Superman is right, who gives a fuck what party they are, they are heroes first and should be above telling others what political party they are.

>The whole point of the character is making sacrifices.

That's kind of the point. Sacrificing his time so Ma and Pa can have more of it and meet Jon and Martha, Superman's new daughter who's born crippled and blind instead of with super powers who requires extra protection.

The villain here doesn't make himself known as a villain either. He first approaches Superman around Christmas, while he's out in the snow chopping down a Christmas tree. Superman says of the encounter,

>"It's Presence felt as natural and comfortable as the snow falling around me. With an offer I couldn't refuse."

>"I don't know who it was. I asked them where they came from. It said It Came From The Source Wall."

If it's "just" 100k it's fairly well off. Probably upper middle class easy (I'm not too sure there.) but it's not insane 1% money.

I agree we have the material, but they tend not to do limited focus scatter shot trades until a LOT of time has passed. I agree with the concept, I just don't see DC doing it for decades.

I actually think I own every single Superman compilation trade. They tend to span decades of material, even if they could fill themselves up with stuff much easier.

I still really do want that gosh darn Mxy one. I think he's the only major villain or Superman concept not to have a trade. Maybe one focusing on weird different Kryptonites?

Let's not forget that even in red states there are blue voters. There's nothing saying the Kents weren't more democrat leaning even with their state being red country.

i wonder how superman feels things. Like i know that wouldn't hurt but how would falling on the ground like that even feel for him.

Because Superman is virtually tireless and doesn't require food and water under the yellow sun.
