Didn't Oliver and Roy's earlier appearances with the Seven Soldiers get retconned pretty earlier? Later issues of the series had a villain named Spider as a member who was basically Green Arrow but he pretended to be good. And he was yellow instead of green

Earth-2 Oliver would be too problematic, and he and the Rebirth Green Arrow would get into arguments

During the Silver Age, there was no problem as the Seven Soldiers came from Earth-2 and they had their own Green Arrow.

After Crisis on Infinite Earths, they changed the roster to accomodate for no Golden Age Green Arrow or Speedy. Spider is a superhero from Quality Comics:

James Robinson retconned the history of the character so that he was villainous. I think it happened in the Shade miniseries. And in Stars and STRIPE, Geoff Johns was the one who retconned Spider as one of the Seven Soldiers of Victory.

For what reason?
