Is Layla Miller proof that Miles could become an interesting character if someone other than Bendis started writing him?
if PAD started writing him maybe

Or Ewing

Or Kelly, or Thompson, or Conway. Hell, I bet even Slott could make Miles somewhat entertaining.

I'm tired of this idea that any character is inherently a bad character. I know i'm going to attract some autists with this but Gwenpool and Superboy are a perfectly fine characters. I mean just look at their fucking origins. Gwenpool looks like Gwen Stacy and dresses up like Deadpool. Superboy is yet another Superman except an angsty teenager. Those two already sound cancerous as fuck. But they get put into good stories.
No character is so utterly and inherently trash that they can't be good characters. Anyone who says Miles can never be a good Spider-Man are legitimately retarded.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there a previous incarnation of Layla Miller that was male and invented in the 60s? Because if not, she has no analogous relation to Miles at all. Miles relies on the "Spider-Man" name in order to continue as the protagonist of his own book. Layla never had that. She was always simply a supporting character with occasional story focus.

>Superboy is yet another Superman except an angsty teenager.
That depends on which version of Superboy you're talking about. By the way, angsty Superboy in ANY incarnation is never good.

>She was always simply a supporting character
She was originally just a plot device, like Homer in Civil War II.

I think the Black Bomber is an inherently bad character.

Layla Miller is the last well executed Claremont tier fetish of the X-Men franchise.

Superboy Prime is an angsty teenager in his core
Layla was only good when she was pedobait
After she grew up I completely lost interest.

I think Black Bomber could legitimately be pulled off well if literally everything went right.
