Disney does not care about money with capeshit movies now. Them breaking even is a farce, it will make money, but now they are more concerned with using movies as a cross platform for other IPs.

They want Star Wars to break box offices, they want Marvel to continue to constant stream of income it gets from all platforms. Owning Marvel is basically printing money every month.

it will make money, not a billion bucks at the box office, but if you take both movies and DVD sales into consideration it could do just that. You see, unlike /co/, casual fans show support with actually purchasing things, like tickets and Blu Rays. You guys might want to look into that.

From the sound of things the movie will revolve heavily on Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision and the Guardians of the Galaxy. They were on set the longest and had the most screentime in the preview, plus the Russos often harken back to them when discussing the movie.

Everyone else shot very little and has been featured very sparsely. Will probably get the limelight on the sequel.

Infinity War will be the first film shot 100% in IMAX

Those scenes in Dark Knight, Transformers, Civil War, etc. added so much more, and now, no more awkward aspect ratio shifts, we get the whole scope the whole time and it's going to really widen the scale of all we're going to see

It'll earn far more than a billion. Avengers 1 and 2 both did around $1.5 billion. The rumored 1 billion budget also includes marketing and both movies, too. When considering both movies it'll probably gross around 3 billion. And that's assuming no real improvement from AOU despite the massively larger hype and the fact that it's most likely going to be an outright much better film than AOU.

Thanos, like Hulk, is as strong as the plot demands. They gave Hulk the whole "anger=strength" thing as a reason for it. He can be knocked out by Captain America (really happened) or get through situations even the Silver Surfer can't handle. Thanos has his whole "secretly wanting to fail" gimmick to explain his losses.
