Wedge/the lack of a true Rogue Squadron presence. Like I said in the last thread, it's shameful how the story group has handled Wedge up until now. I know it's still very early in the new canon, and I like the new canon very much in most facets, but it's been a huge let down so far and I'm hoping they eventually get Stackpole to do a new Rogue Squadron novel

Looking at TFA again, I can't help but feel like Abrams is one of those people who say they're into something, yet at the same time, it's clear that they don't really get the essence of what it is that they claim to like, resulting in things like fanfiction that doesn't quite manage to capture the feel of the original simply because the creator only focuses on a few aspects of a franchise rather than what distinguishes it as a whole.

You can see it in how he handled the opening crawl and the scene with Poe at the village, the originally EU-exclusive problem of new antagonists suffering from having to serial escalation, awkward callbacks (did the whole "12 parsecs" thing really need to be referenced when the original line was implied to be an attempt to bullshit what he thought were a couple of rubes?), and even the ending shot featuring so much movement despite the standard being static shots upon which a final image is burned into the viewer's mind before we iris out to the credits. Adding on to what I said, it's actually similar to how I felt watching Super 8. It tried to be a Spielberg movie with the inclusion of the kids, the deceased parent, the troubled single parents, the alien, the nostalgic small town setting, the sinister military presence, the John Williamsesque soundtrack, and so on, but it didn't quite succeed at it at all. This might sound bizarre right now, but when you think about it, BF2 is going to have an astounding pro-prequels effect on the normies.

Remember how TFA released, and we started seeing tons of "The prequels weren't so bad after all" articles?

Well BF2 is going to be like that, but on a whole other level. For the OT and the ST eras, they'll be able to play as the obvious choices. Luke, Rey, Kylo, Vader, Stormtroopers, TIE's and X-Wings. All very samey.

So according to the novelization for The Force Awakens Kylo Ren actually doesn't want to kill the villagers on Jakku but feels he is forced to when Tekka reveals too much of his past as Ben Solo in front of them. He actually calls it a tragedy that could have been avoided hinting that he's more of some demented 'gray' side believer (that's actually closer to an ISIS member in his beliefs).

Also Tekka is implied to be famous for his adventures and was possibly been a bounty hunter before since Poe thinks he looks like he could kick anyone's ass and Kylo calls him a soldier for hire.
