Are Hotel Transylvania Dracula and Castlevania Dracula any less "Dracula" because they deviate from the Stoker novel? What about the Oz characters? Are you saying the Wicked Witch of the East can't both be a misunderstood figure and sadistic cunt? What about Sun Wukong, Sherlock Holmes or the Frankenstein monster?

And this is covering altered personalities, you're bitching about character being drawn older and in a different style. Artistic expression and interpretation isn't rigid.

You're talking about Dracula as an archetype, Hotel Transylvania, Castlevania and Bram Stoker Draculas are all massively different characters. As is Bigdad's OC fanfic version of a very specific character named Gaz which shares practically nothing in common with his creation. Why do you even care that it's named Gaz?
