Their features don't mix well together. Affleck has that classic strong man lantern jaw where as Bale has that kind of gaunt but well bred high society look to him.

It's not popular on Earth when she comes over (unless you're going with some kind of crazy AU I guess), so it doesn't really work for me in that sort of relaxed form posted with the completely smooth fabric. That's fair enough, but I was more imagining it as a comic book style, because of the layout. And with capes come crossovers, because DC.
I just couldn't see that design working outside of that style without looking a bit too complicated. The fact that the art itself has that pseudo-realistic look makes the character pop, as opposed to some bog-standard comic book artist.
I know I sound autistic about it, but I love Static too much to let him get screwed over again by DC.

Alien Force's art style still sucks but these edits manage to be even worse. Borderline autistic with how insistent they are on "never change character details ever."

I liked the redesign where Kryptonians looked alien, but could rewrite their DNA to fit in on other planets. I wish I could find it again, I really liked that idea.
