Feast your eyes on THE SAGA OF THE SUBMARINER.
A 12 issue mini-series that covers Namor's entire life from his parents meeting to the death of his second wife, right before John Byrne's 1990s run. Interesting in that it's autobiographical and told from Namor's POV.
Sometimes a hero and at other times a villain; I believe Namor's duality is what draws a lot of his fans to him and is something you'll get to see both sides of in this story while also serving as a primer to his origin.
Written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Rich Buckler with inks by Bob McCleod. It's 12 issues with roughly 24 pages an issue so this is gonna be a long one. If there's enough interest I'll see if I can push through the whole thing. If not maybe I'll stop and do a part 2 later on? We'll see where this goes.
Namor fans and critics alike are welcome but please kindly refrain from posting images until the story is done!

No problem. One of my favorite Namor stories and a great one for new readers. I plan on doing a few Namor storytimes this week so I thought I'd start off with one good for anyone unfamiliar with the character.

OP here. Half way through and this is a good point story wise to take a break at. Also I'm in desperate need of some sleep.
I'll do a part 2 later today and link it back to this thread. For anyone who wants to grab the files now they're here individually: http://libgen.io/comics/index.php?s=saga%20of%20the%20sub%20mariner&page=1
I plan on doing Namor storytimes for roughly the next week or so when I have time available. I'd love to get some input or hear any recommendations.
Right now I'm thinking it's going to be this:
-John Byrne's run on Namor, the Sub-Mariner #1-25:
This is the obvious one to go into next as it picks up right after Saga of the Sub-Mariner. I actually have a few things I dislike about this run but overall I still think it's a solid run. It's a more straightforward Namor than what we're seeing in Saga. Namor is pretty much locked into hero mode in this run, is the CEO of a green company, and is mostly set outside of Atlantis.
-Sub-Mariner: Revolution:
A mini-series set post Civil War in which we get to see what brought Namor to the X-men. Set on both Atlantis and the surface, it has Namor visiting various allies to help him deal with rogue Atlantean terrorists while Atlantis itself is being threatened by shield.
-Namor: The First Mutant and its follow-up tie in, Fear Itself: The Deep:
A more modern take on Namor and what motivates him. I thought this was a ton of fun. There's, like, Atlantean vampires and stuff bro. Art wise you'll either hate it or love it. There were a ridiculous number of artists and inkers involved in this series. As many as up to three in a single issue!
-Sub-Mariner: The Depths:
An alternate universe Marvel Knights series. A horror inspired version of Namor. It's a horror suspense story from a human submariners perspective on Namor.
