Did your poppa have a ebin comic pile somewhere?
No but my momma always gave me Astrix & Obelix and Tintin comics whenever possible.

You can't beat this shit
He did, but he burned it all as a young man in a fit of rage at his father. He never forgot his love for them though, and when I was a kid he used to tell me bedtime stories about the FF and the Avengers. The coming of Galactus was my favorite of course.
Old fags will remember this face

Back when he killed.
My father's side of the family were all french and between our various members we had a bunch of dog-eared Asterix and Tintin albums that would jump house as new babies arrived. Kind of a family tradition that kids learnt to read with them, which my mother lovingly obliged. I still have most of them.
Dad also had a couple of El Tony and D'Artagnan annuals lying around the house. They were super confusing to kid me and I didn't like them much, though nowadays I'd kill for a chance to read them again.
Dad had a stack of old Michel Valliants
these are fun

In my room and my brother's room, we got shelves full of the BD that he bought over time. I keep reading them from time to time.
