I just finished watching Netflix's Castlevania. It was fucking amazing.
I loved the visuals and Dracula's backstory. imo anti-clericalism was too on-the-nose, and would have preferred to have more positive portrayal of religious folk alongside the corrupt priests
Before muh not cartoons, the show was produced in English in the US by Americans. I remember watching a video on Youtube how the one of the showrunners wanted to bring in the kind of hard animation that Japan makes into the US, and I think that's a good thing. I'm sick of most adult animation in the US being comedies.

Nah religion is evil.

Don't worry. If Ellis sticks a bit to the source, there will be, starting for the Belmonts themselves.

The inbetweeners have western surnames, as far as I recall. That should tell people if this is an anime or a cartoon. Inbetween animation is like that kind of work you really, really, really would rather not do.

>whip is used for doing sneaky shit instead of only disarming and the platforming
>trevor tried to kick alucard's balls as a desperation move
Not really a fan of IM AN INDEPENDENT WOMAN THAT NEEDS NO MAN when she has a big ass death flag of I'm going to die because I fell for alucard
I wish they had converted the Lords of Shadow story instead
>>93898294
It can't be anime, the characters have entire noses, nostrils and everything
>>93900504
I don't know, anon. It doesn't much different than average shounen anime to me.
>>93901750
I'm just saying, nips usually like to shy away from lips and nostrils

>the one Castlevania thread where the OP isn't a massive shitpost
>the thread is practically dead
On an unrealated note i'd like to point out that i thought the voice acting was amazingwith a few exceptions where a line or two would be delivered somewhat halfheartedly.I especially enjoyed Draculas performance.
Holy shit there's a Castlevania show on Netflix? Jesus christ I'm watching it right now.
thank you whoever the fuck made this thread

Have you been living under a rock?
>>93902570
Speaking of Dracula, there's a line that drew my attention
>The only true love I ever knew
Maybe I'm just a huge Castlevania geek, but is it possible Lamment of Innocence never happened in this continuity? Since he had another wife back at then and all.
>>93902634
Second wife was a reincarnation of the first I think. So Drac might just count them as the same woman.

>imo anti-clericalism was too on-the-nose, and would have preferred to have more positive portrayal of religious folk alongside the corrupt priests
But, with the exception of the speakers, literally all of them chose that path.
Also, the church burning your wife isn't going to leave room for questions like,"I hope that I don't offend their culture,or religion". That was off of the table when they chose not to leave. Remember, Dracula literally did nothing to them.
How much nudity can we expect out of this, being on Netflix and all?

>Also, the church burning your wife isn't going to leave room for questions like,"I hope that I don't offend their culture,or religion".
I suppose I should have actually written down a question, and not a statement.
>>93902603
>he didn't know there was a castlevania series on netflix
How have you managed to avoid this information until now.
>>93900504
no, that shit is a modern thing. anime from the 80's and 90's had fantastic character designs. its the shit made for manchildren otaku that makes every character look like a pan with eyes painted on

You know, it Matthias was Dracula, why his hair was red? I cannot remember the game all that well, but were there a reason for it?
>>93902719
I know succubi weren't around in Castlevania III but they could put some in the show for fan service.
>>93902782
You might be thinking of Walter, Mathias had black hair.
>>93902719
is Netflix skittish about nudity? They definitely aim their shows at mass market, but their licensed stuff is uncensored, afaik
>>93902812
Oh, I guess I mistook both of them. I played that game years ago and my memory is sloppy, for sure.
>>93902838
Was implying the opposite. I'm expecting some man ass at least.
>>93902719
As long as it's not straight up porn Netflix doesn't care. Even that is debatable though.
>>93902911
>>93902870
>>93902838
Guys, come on... I mean... Sense8.
>>93898654
It was written by Warren Ellis. This is honestly holding back for him.
>>93902949
I don't get it. What does that have to do with nudity?
>>93902949
I didn't see much of it but i do remember the lesbian sex scene in it. It was the only reason i watched as long as i did.
>>93903006
>>93903052
Lots of sex scenes. Lots.
Plenty.
Not totally explicit, but not ashamed either.
My point is that Netflix doesn't have a problem with showing stuff of any kind ad far as is well tagged and fits the target.
>>93902685
>Remember, Dracula literally did nothing to them.
t. Dracula Vlad Tepes
>>93903110
Glow has Allison Brie's tits
Don't know much about Castlevania besides "Die monster you don't belong in this world" and "What a terrible night for a curse". The only game I played was Circle of the Moon on the GBA, so what exactly is the story? I thought Simon was the main Belmont
>>93903260
I'm still looking for time to watch it, geez.
>>93903395
There's not a main Belmont. A few of them are featured in multiple games.
So what's the release schedule for episodes? Or is season one really just the 4 episodes?
>>93903395
>what exactly is the story?
Exactly what you said, it's practically always
>"Die monster you don't belong in this world"
With a few different variables.
>I thought Simon was the main Belmont
There is no main Belmont. It's like JoJo, there's a ton.
>>93902719
Netflix doesn't give a fuck. They're like HBO.
