I really don't have any interest in these live action movies and anyone who goes to see them is an idiot. I'd rather they put the money towards amazing broadway performances instead, have they even done one since The Lion King? Imagine Beauty and the Beast on a stage. I've been encouraging my facebook feed to pirate them if they want to see them. At least then Disney loses money for it even if it's only a handful of people.

When Disney went on to make the tv series and specials (as well as other things like the Kingdom Hearts game), there was absolutely zero chance they were gonna get Robin again. So they hired Dan Castellaneta (most famous for Homer Simpson, but prolific voice actor) to do Genie. Dan's Genie definitely sounds similar to Homer.
