What should I read before digging into this book?
I know its the pivotal Teen Titans book, but do I need to read all of New Teen Titans for it to make sense or be impactful/good?

No, but that's what I plan on doing. I don't know if I want to read the original Titans run, but so far, I've started with The New Teen Titans, and I'm gonna finish off with The New Titans.

Yes it would help but more importantly, you should read all of New Teen Titans because the entire run up to Judas Contract is just as good as Judas Contract.

I'm just really intimidated by series. I've only been reading comics for a few years, and I mostly just own miniseries and the like. At the moment I am interested in Geoff Johns Green Lantern, New Teen Titans, Moore's Swamp Thing, J.L.I., Morrisons J.L.A., and Fables.
I was thinking about licking up Judas Contract, but do you think my yime and money would be better devoted in one of the other runs?
Pic related: My shelf kind of shitty picture because my shelf is next to a window.

There's not really anything intimidating about New Teen Titans. If you want the best Titans comic just start at the beginning and read it from Vol. 1 of the trades. Judas Contract is just taking a chunk out of the later part of the run (somewhere in the #40s I think).
In case anybody isn't aware, Barnes and Noble is having it buy 2 get 3rd free comic deal. It Marvel for another week and then DC.

Does B&N lump Vertigo comics with their DC sale?

Yes.
Does anyone have that comparison picture between this and an anime?
Does anyone even know what anime this references?
