Artemis is the most confusing part of this book by far. Because she's just fine, pretty great even, as if the writer is actually familiar enough with the material to get it right. But that makes no sense, since writers never do any kind of research on WW material, nevermind her supporting cast. And it's all there, the Bana, their history, the Shim'Tar, even Artemis' girlfriend is a pre-existing character from like one run ages ago.

There even seems to be something of a meta element to Artemis' character arc. She's very firmly an archer type character, and with her narration going on about how it feels like a part of her, it's like her quest for the Bow of Ra is a quest to retrieve her personal signature as a character.

Of all writers to practice due diligence, it was fucking Lobdell, the guy who drove the Titans directly into the trash. The fuck.

- Mail for Jason from the jail, from when he was in Ma Gunn's school, even if he lasted there short (nice call back to his post-crisi origin, btw).
- Talia being frightened when she pulled him down in the waters of the pit (Jason still caved his way out his grave, apparently, seeing how he reacted when he had to do so after the bow's attack).
-The all-blades being weakened.

It may be a magical weapon, very much like Jason's swords. She also carries a sword, as far as I've seen, in her back. And now she has her bow, which I guess is going to be her actual weapon of choice. The bow may be of the magical type that materializes at the user's wish, maybe, like Mistress and the All-Blades.

As someone who hasn't read a Lobdell comic outside of his 90's X-Men, this whole run strikes me as pretty standard (in a good way). I don't know if he went off the deep end at DC, but this RHATO run is what comicbooks should be. Strong single issues with an ongoing plot and engaging characters.

I never thought these words would ever come out of my mouth but Scott Lobdell is killing it on this series. It's not the greatest comic of all time, but it features likeable characters and a unique iteration of the DC Trinity. I feel like Lobdell has significantly improved since he started and feel that he would do great on a Superman series. I'd be willing to give him a 4-6 issue arc and see how he does.

Here in Spain, I think we have that kind of dynamic duo in fiction, and I can asure you that we don't know shit about that book / play. She can add the magical-side plots to the run, in the same way Bizarro can add the science plots. And then you have Jason in the middle, with his own stories, being a middle ground to both. She's boring because she barely has any ground for herself, any story: so give her that, create stories for her and make the audience gain interest in her.

I see it as an opportunity more than a flaw.

It was because there was no tension at all. Akila was just a plot device and her personality being so similar to Artemis made a drag to read their interactions. She was also s blatantly evil that the end of her subplot was obvious since the start.

Then you have the three issue format that cut short all the potential than Jason and Bizarro's own subplots had.

And with the confirmation of the All Caste still being part of Jason's backstory there's also no reason to stuck Artemis on the mystical stories either. Hell, much of the fun of the title is the bouncing that comes from having all the characters interact.

Research is good but that only proves Artemis is a weak character from its conception. Lobdell needs to fully re conceptualize her to be at the same standards as Jason and Bizarro.
