Why did he knew about Eclipsa spell in the book that would give him the power to control Ludo?

Was it just his luck?

Did he actually planned ANYTHING in advance? Or did he really just got himself killed in S1 and the again in the movie for no other reason than just getting his finger?


Why was he even a threat? He lost the power of the wand after his regeneration. He is as much of a threat as Rasticore or any other lizard from his race. Toffee wasn't special beside being more intelligent.


If this is the end of his saga then its really more shit than the ending of Samurai Jack.

I feel like his arc is over now and now we are going to dwell into the "Racism between monsters and Mewnians" with Eclipsa since she was a monster lover. Maybe TOffee will be mentioned in the past tense but i doubt he will return.

Its a shame though. We never knew his motivation. It seems like maybe he lost something at the Mewindependence Day battle and then wanted to exact revenge by disrupting the treaty between Monsters and Mewnians. But he really never say anything than mocking the main heroes.

The way I see it, we'll spend a big part of this season tying up the Star/Marco/Jackie arc with some "Moon deals with Eclipsa-related shit" episodes in between. So by the end of season 3 Marco and Jackie would be broken up (or not and never will be) and the season will probably end by showing Eclipsa's escaped/released.

Early season 4 starts by picking up the romance arc and we'll probably have confirmation on Starco happening/not happening by the end of the first half of season 4 (that is if Jarco's already broken up by the end of s3 at this point), but it will also overlap with Eclipsa reviving Toffee.

So by the end of season 4, Star would be facing 2 villains. One that's got the scheming, planning power with the protection of the only mewman capable of matching her magic powers, so she'll have to learn how to fight smarter giving her some form of character development.

That way Eclipsa and Toffee would only appear sparingly to set the climaxes of each season, reducing the cost of paying Hall and Bianco but it still keeps the narrative throughout the series well balanced for 4 seasons.

I have been a fan of gravity falls, steven universe, adventure time and samurai jack. And as someone who is still not completely butthurt about how those ended up being, i warn all of you star vs fans of the dangers of over-hyping the show.
You guys think this show will become the greatest thing of all time, and have grand epic stuff that will make it one of the best tv shows of all time. It won't. It will still be a good show, but if it tries to fly too big, it will fall down hard. The show will never live up to all of your expectations, so have them low. That way, you won't get disappointed when they don't make the greatest thing ever made.
Every time a popular show tries to go big, the fans of those shows in this board get mad once it doesn't live up to its big standards.

im not saying you should forgive every fault this show has. But modern animated tv shows have a lot of bad writing, even if they are good stories. The shows i mentioned suffered from this.
Part of the reason why i still enjoy AT and SU is because i stopped expecting grand things out of them. I dont care about the lore or the action in those shows, i just want to see the adventures of those characters. Granted, that doesn't mean im gonna forgive the shit steven pulled last episode and what happened with the lich, but I'm not as angry as I would be if I had too many expectations for the show.

Star vs will have bad writing. It will disappoint you at times. Dont expect it to be the greatest thing ever. Just treat it as a fun show you talk about in 4chan from time to time.
