Ancient Mayan civilization reappears in modern times due to a ritual that one of their most prominent sorcerers were performing that went wrong. The objective was to summon Nohochacyum to trigger the end times by forcing the god to destroy the world serpent Hapikern but instead the spell displaced the Mayan civilization in time only to make it reappear later on.

Leo, Donandreas, and Alebrije are summoned to modern times by a young girl named Xochitl, who is the earthly avatar of Hapikern, so they can save the world from destruction once again, and along the way they meet up with Teodora again as well as deal with the supernatural as they search for a way to stop the Mayans from destroying the world.

I heard the movies are shit, but I also find it strange how in first episode Leo already knows all the other main characters without any introduction to either him or the other three. It kinda feels like I missed something before the first episode.
