Can we talk about Cerebus and his wacky creator Dave Sim?

I've kept trying to get into it over the years but I can't get past those first issues, and I don't want to skip any because I'm autistic like that. one of these days I'll get around to it.
There's probably a substantial portion of /co/ now who would actually agree with Sim's on-panel mental breakdown.
But all the same the high points of Cerebus are true high points; some incredible story arcs there. Shame it all goes to shit.

It is worth it. The issue where he meets the pigts and the Aardvark state underground is the most important for later on.

One of the things about Cerebus is that it changes so dramatically over the 300 issues that you're no longer reading the same comic in say, 50 issues that you were before. I personally liked the barbarian issues early on the best before it got to be all politics and Cerebus being a shit. It's worth reading for the spectacle alone.
This would be a great reaction image.

Can we do this without going full sharia blue vs /pol/ smokers?

Half of the eisner winners will never have a high point as good as peak Cerebus. Better to have some great stuff and a litle garbage than nothing great at all, and it's a 300 issue run to begin with.
