They fucking mention the Chitauri invasion every fucking episode in 3/4 of the netflix shows so far. Luke Cage even features Chitauri tech mixed with Hammer tech, being almost like a preview of the tech in SM:H that Vultures crew uses.

Yes, so far it seems so. But it wouldn't really make sense if the Avengers would call upon the Defenders during a world ending threat, so logistics wise it kinda makes sense that the movies don't reference the netflix shows. The movies only referenced to SHIELD once in Age of Ultron, and SHIELD has very small references to the gang wars in Hells Kitchen, so it is still somehow loosly connected.
