The show's never really subtle with its "this is foreshadowing!" moments. Between the trial putting so much emphasis on Pink Diamond's Pearl and Pearl's reaction to Ruby announcing Rose shattered Pink Diamond (as well as Garnet immediately turning to look at Pearl), it feels like that's the direction they're going with it.

If your theory is any variation of "it was a dream", "it wasn't real", "he was dead all along", or "the main characters are the REAL bad guys", it belongs in the trash.
