This is why events need to be no more than 6 issues. This event is just dragging itself out. The best issue was the Pymtron one but that seemed like a filler issue or some tie in issue smuggled into the main series.

You'd think after Secret Wars and CW2 having delays they'd have this cut down but instead there's delay, multiple artists of questionable quality, and price increases.

This one's just lazy. The issue that opens with Star Lord they added a real-Steve segment before it, and they just pasted a lame caption about stars to try and loop it back together. It was such a lazy addition that the caption was placed as far into a corner as possible to not disrupt the original page.
Probably autism, but they said they just need to hammer out Secret Empire so they can segway into Legacy. There's nothing driving the event forward, we all know it's going to be reset somehow anyway.

No, this is why you shouldn't have a Big Event every 6 fucking months.

Over at DC they did an event called 52 that was a year long weekly comic and it was pretty awesome. But then they decided to do it again and we got Batman Eternal ( which started out pretty good and rapidly went off the rails ); followed by Future's End ( which was a clusterfuck and then a hard reset at the end because Time Travel Shenanigans a-la Age Of Ultron over at Marble ); and then Batman and Robin Eternal ( which was billed as being half as long as BE so as to allay fears of it being another bloated unfocused mess ... it was STILL a bloated and unfocused mess. )

What I'm saying here is that the problem isn't the LENGTH as such; rather it's the GREED that leads to padding things out via decompression and digression and "FUCK IT, WE'LL DO IT LIVE!!" style non-planning as epitomized by modern era Bendis.

A 6 issue cap won't help if you've got some cunt cramming 2 issues worth of plot into those 6 issues and, on the flip side, Watchmen was actually a 6 issue story that Moore needed to get 12 issues out of:

"When writing the script for the first issue, Moore said he realized, "I only had enough plot for six issues. We were contracted for 12!" His solution was to alternate issues that dealt with the overall plot of the series with origin issues for the characters."
