I... What? Seriously? I know 80's cartoons had some shit writing, really shit writing, but this breaks even basic continuity multiple times.

This isn't shit writing, this is just because the franchise doesn't technically HAVE a continuity. The episodes are not meant to flow from one to another, and different people write different episodes. The episodes are suppose to stand alone.

They made it up as they went along, anon. There was no "deepest lore" or "grand plan" back then.
That's why we got three incompatible origins for the Constructicons in Transformers.
