This, the government and black community will have to work together if they want any real improvement. The number one thing that is holding back the black community is gangs.

Gangs have a large number of children, teens and young adults in them who they manipulate since they force them the idea that "hey'll never get out of their situation and the gang is their "true" family. Once they get arrested once, their lives are basically over as America's prison system is punitive to a point that trying to get a legitimate career after a single arrest is nearly impossible and once that happens they're basically tied down and truly stuck with the gang forever.

Government and black protesters should begin by educating children of poor neighborhoods the truth about gangs being manipulative and want to do more harm then good as well as make prisons less punitive and more programs that allow first time prisoners to go back and get legitimate career's.
