What I like about Overwatch's cast is that as little of a overall plot we have, there are little snippets of dialogue showing hints of depth and backstory.

That's not it. Their "chemistry" was just so incredibly lukewarm. Ron and Hermione went back and forth between tolerating each other's presence and not minding each other's presence. They seemed to neither like nor dislike the other and the strongest chemistry they ever had was whenever Hermione got annoyed at having to deal with Ron's general incompetence and dimwittedness.

Cho would have been better than Ginny, but there's no substitute for having the hero end up with the heroine. Especially when the hero is written as to let the audience imagine themselves in his place.
