He wasn't always trash, that's the worst thing. When he got announced as the new Spider-Man writer like ten years ago or whatever people were excited as fuck. His old stuff, like She-Hulk, GLA, and The Initiative were all fucking great, and his run on Ren & Stimpy was amazing. But I think letting him play with big-boy toys like Spider-Man was a fucking mistake. With an A-lister like Spidey you need to have drama and stakes, and Dan Slott cannot handle either of those things, at least not at a flagship-title level. He was best when he was doing more light-hearted stuff.

Honestly, I like that Ock is getting more time in spotlight, but I WISH it wasn't Slott writing it.

Ock's done so much shit now he's basically his arch-enemy by default, even more than before, but the whole thing is just so contrived and badly written. I can see that to be honest. My guess is that Pete is losing pretty bad and gets bailed out by Sable who then takes him back to her country to hide him. Which might explain why he seems to be missing. That and he also has a lot of tech and supplies there from when he just saved them from Osborn. They'd be willing to let him hid out there for a bit.

Hell so far to me it's looking like this may as well be called "Big-time 2". It's all the same, Pete fighting against a Otto that seemingly has all the advantages. While Sable backs him up. Plus Black widow is still free (and has Miles with her) and both widow and sable played a big hand in the last big time.
