Just watched this old movie, and it has me interested in the comics or cartoons.
Are any of them good? Is there a recommended reading/viewing list?
Also, recommendations for anything in a similar vein.
So has anyone ever made any artwork of Commissioner Gordon in a Flash suit?

Al Williamson's stuff. Avoid the more recent Jeff Parker idiocy.
Alex Raymond
Al Williamson
Dan JurgensFuck you, I liked it.
The more recent stuff (Zeitgeist and all that) is okay.

The most recent Dynamite series I remember being a fun modernization with sweet pulpy adventure artwork from Chris Samnee. Like anon >>93801083 said, it was a spinoff from the Zeitgeist event a crossover with a bunch of old pulp staples, but I never read it and it only serves as a device that introduces Flash to alien worlds and spurs him into heroism.
I dropped off the series when it got delayed, don't know if it ever tapers off, maybe I'll check up on it.

Edit: Doc Shaner did the art, not Samnee. They have similar art styles. Could've swore it was Samnee though.
I have nothing to contribute other than I met Sam J Jones recently. He's a nice guy.
Like other anons have mentioned, the Al Williamson stuff is a must, but I also like the Dan Barry - Harvey Kurtzman run of the strip that Kitchen Sink collected years ago. At times the artwork looks like Kurtzman's collaborator Will Elder.

Parker's series was awful except for the art.

I recommend reading the original comic strips first, you'll notice the first two pages are almost exactly like the beginning of the movie which is awesome. it's just pure pulp space adventure fun.
