I remember a few days ago there was a big greentext "leak" of future Marvel plans of the sort we see here every so often. Among them was that the O5 X-Men, Champions and MIles would be shuffled off to a new Ultimate Universe and be rebranded as "Ultimate X-Men," "Ultimate Spider-Man," etc. I dismissed it at the time as mere fanfiction but seeing this cover has me wondering if there might have been some meat on that bone.

>Marvel Legacy Changes The Way You Read Comics

>Marvel Legacy is changing the way you read comics – and the future of the Marvel Universe. This fall, Marvel presents MARVEL PRIMER PAGES!, three all-new pages of comic content written by Robbie Thompson (Silk, Doctor Strange and the Sorcerer Supreme) with a majority of art from acclaimed superstar Mark Bagley (The Amazing Spider-Man, All New X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man). These stories will draw all readers into the Marvel Universe like never before. And at no extra cost to the reader, what better way to change the way readers jump into a series!

Designed to give brand new readers a hook into the series, MARVEL PRIMER PAGES will offer all fans a simple jumping on point for almost all of Marvel’s heroic and iconic characters.

>“When I first approached Robbie and Mark to do these Primer stories, I gave them only one edict: to remind all readers both who these characters are and what they’re about in three all new pages,” said Marvel editor Darren Shan. “What we got back has been some of the most fun art I’ve ever seen from Mark! And we couldn’t be luckier to have someone like Robbie to cherry pick the most classic moments in Marvel history. Then the two of them tie this all up into one perfect package. I think everyone will love these!”
>>
>“It's been an absolute blast working on this project -- it gives me a great excuse to re-read so many of my favorite comics!” said writer Robbie Thompson. I've been a fan of Mark's for years, so to get to work with him is a dream come true. Mark takes the scripts and distills them down to their essence, finding brilliant ways to tell these stories with truly iconic images. I can't wait for people to see what he's done with these!"

If you have to consult a chart, it's not handy or easy enough. Also, didn't we just do this world's collide shit?
>>
>>93787321

Yeah, I spotted that a minute after I wrote that. Slightly embarrassing. Also slightly surprising that they'd include Agent X at all. That's a bit of a stretch. I mean, it was part of the same story, but Deadpool didn't even appear in it until the last three issues or so. Ah, well. I guess it's sort of like issues of Iron Man where Rhodey was the man in the suit.

>Also slightly surprising that they'd include Agent X at all
Eh, it was a direct continuation of Simone's Deadpool run, for half of the ongoing Agent X was treated as Deadpool with amnesia, and the final arc featured Deadpool prominently. The twist may have been that he wasn't actually Deadpool, but it was essentially the "Deadpool" ongoing under a different name.

I think you're remembering that rumor wrong. It was just said to be an imprint, not a separate world again.

JEAN GREY #57 - Jean is still, like, super insecure about the Phoenix coming sometime so she like, you know, goes and finds someone else to talk to about it. NON STOP NONACTION! YOUR BUTT WILL BE FIRMLY PLANTED IN YOUR SEAT!

Seriously, though, did someone actually think this would be an interesting storyline? This is as bad as team books that spend half a year just picking up team members one at a time.

Good riddance. Those have always been lazy narrative tools. Show, don't tell.

Marvel is promoting this gimmick as something new.

>Marvel Legacy is changing the way you read comics – and the future of the Marvel Universe. This fall, Marvel presents MARVEL PRIMER PAGES!

Then what do want? You are just crying to cry.

Meanwhile everyone on back issues and bleedingcool hates 90s to up.

I almost think you retards bitch to bitch. Newsflash you hate own sad life and you're projecting them on the comics in homosexual ways.

Question, because I don't keep up with this kind of shit. Does Legacy come after Secret Empire, and if so, is Marvel gonna fuck up again and release it before Secret Empire is over?

>You're not allowed to express an opinion unless it's positive! Anything else is whining and grounds for an ad hominem attack!

Thanks for reminding me of the dire state /co/ is in now.

>>93789153
Yes, it does come after Secret Empire. And while there's no wild delays (yet), Marvel's fucked up plenty by releasing these utterly abysmal solicits and previews.

Why are the counting Tales to Astonish for Hulk and not the whateverbookitwas that Iron Man started in for Iron Man?
>>
>>93787969
But he also wrote the Charlie episodes.
>>
>>93793054
Because Tales to Astonish got renamed Incredible Hulk. Same with how Journey into Mystery was renamed Thor. Tales of Suspense didn't get renamed Iron Man. Iron Man just started from #1.

So they're taking three pages to retell origin stories, which they had done before in one page a few years ago and what DC did in two pages of "52" some years before THAT.

Tales of Suspense became Captain America I think

>U.S. AVENGERS Evoking ARCHIE & JLI With MARVEL LEGACY

>With "Marvel Legacy," the U.S. Avengers title will be taking cues from some other legacies - Archie Comics and classic Justice League International. In an interview with Nerdist, series writer Al Ewing says that he and continuing artist Paco Medina will be inspired by some unique outside sources as the team tries to find the missing and presumed dead Cannonball - and give the character a chance to show his heart.

>"As for Sam’s heart, I think in this upcoming story we’re going to get a good look at it," said Ewing. "He ends up in a situation that calls for a lot of compassion and character, so we’ll really get to see the best of him at work.”

>Credit: David Nakayama (Marvel Comics)
Nerdist's Eric Diaz mentioned Justice League International as a possible influence on Ewing in this book, which the writer unequvocably agreed.

>“[That]’s actually a favorite comic of mine from my childhood! I’ve never thought of it as an influence before, but it almost certainly is," said Ewing. "It was very funny to me at the time, but I was conscious that when it got serious, it hit hard - there was a contrast between the laughs and the drama that really worked well, and that’s probably a lesson I took away with me. Even the most serious comic should have a couple of jokes to leaven it, and for contrast … light-hearted pieces should be able to get heavy on occasion. There’s certainly plenty of that coming up in the Legacy storyline.”
>>
>>93786959
So I wasn't paying attention: is this "Legacy" event just a bunch of new series? Or is it just a bunch of new covers?

>When asked for more details on U.S. Avengers' "Legacy" plans, Ewing shared several plotpoints.

>“[Readers] can expect some HYDRA-smashing action, a major upending of the status quo for at least a couple of characters, a brand new Supreme Leader of A.I.M., a quest to the depths of space, a mysterious American suburb that’s a million light years from Earth, the terrible secret of Bugface Brown… and much, much more,” Ewing said. “It’s going to be a fun ride for all our readers.”

>is this "Legacy" event just a bunch of new series?
Nope. There are only 4 new series as part of Legacy. Marvel Two-in-One, Spirits of Vengeance, Moon Knight, and Falcon.

>Or is it just a bunch of new covers?
It's jumping on points for their current ongoings, along with a series of homage variant covers, and a bunch of books returning to legacy numbering.
