I am using a brush. Well, it's a brush pen, but it has bristles and an inkwell I can refill with India ink. It doesn't lay on too thick so I can rely on it for dry brush effects and fine line work. I like the reliability of pens, though. I fuck up quill pen nibs too easily to bother with those anymore, even though I prefer them. I have brushes for water coloring or ink washing, so I might fuck with one of those if I want to dip.

I've just been drawing little profile cards for all the races in my current fantasy setting. When I'm done all the art- I plan on finishing them by putting their race name and just a little summarized description of what the race is like, culture, etc.

Sight is an after thought, i've seen harder handles grip wise so could try again some mroe with it. Linework sketchy as all of the gun is subject to change.

No safety yet (red button might switch stun/kill which change color of the glowing thing, activated by thumb).

You put more stock into the planned picture, wanting to make something "perfect." You stress every small error, you worry about making it look too boring, or too complicated.

With a for-fun picture, you're just drawing for the hell of it. You're relaxed, you're not worrying too much because hey, it's not like you're trying to make a masterpiece.

I can't offer advice because I still struggle with it too. It's very hard to "go with the flow" on a planned picture the way I do with something I do for fun.

If you actually practice every day you can become "decent" in about a year and "good" in about three years. You probably won't practice every day, so multiply this timeframe by five or ten.

I like 3 and 5 the most. Not too dark, and I think warmer color palettes are a bit more unique for alien-like creatures than greens. The brown palettes are bland imo. Also your style rules. Great work so far!

I dig monochromatic palettes. Are you planning for your whole comic to be monochromatic, with just a few color accents? If not, you should consider it. Would really fit with a vampire motif.

As with anything else, you just have to practice every day. I use an app called Habitica to keep me on track (it's good for forming literally any habit... it's not exclusive to art). It's for faggots like me who can't plan things like normal adults.

As for what I'm working on... pic related is one of 2 MCs from a comic in the works. I have to go with a sketchy "style" or else I would spend hours on every little detail and would never finish anything. I'm not one of those people who can wizard a Renaissance-tier drawing out of my ass in 15 minutes.

I'm going to finish the design for the other MC tomorrow, then crank out the first page of the comic over the weekend. I already have an outline typed up and ready to go.

Clip studio is a good program to use. theres alot of features on it right off the bat so its a little intimidating when you first use it but it's easy to figure out.

If you have shaky hands most drawing programs have a stabilizer to help with that and if they dont theres plenty of plug ins onlines.

Mario Anselmi is a twenty-first century film director tasked with directing "Super Mario in Real Life," a live-action video game parody commissioned by internet media distributor ChickenToes.

However, Mario is not content with directing live-action and is only using the video game series to get him into the position to one day produce "The Adventures of Anima Honeypie," an original animated science fiction epic about a time-traveling magician. Given that Mario can barely draw, his journey involves finding the balance between live action and animation as well as original content and mass-market appeal. Finally, producer pressure and hectic promotional marketing at one of the largest anime conventions in America thrust Mario into a surrealist examination of the technical and social situations that have made him who he is, juxtaposed against the insanity of modern "geek culture" and his desperate attempts to keep his projects from collapsing around him.
