The pak can be sepperated from the irken body and survive long periods of time, and take over other hosts, but the irken body can not survive without it, meaning the pak has a bit more agency than the body does.

Both by the same author. The first one is kind of tragic; Chapter 2 is centered around deconstructing Membrane's character, namely his refusal of aliens. The second story is more slice of life/ family oriented. Happy feels.

Technically Zim is very old by human standards and by extension so are a large portion of Irkens presumably. Maturity wise he's a child and most of the Irkens in the show act like ones too. My head-cannon is that the control brains attempt to keep the general population mentally stunted, the reason being it's much easier to control/keep invaders from gaining empathy to other races if everything is black and white and rather simple.
