Death and dream hunter are awesome.
Never read Lucifer.
lucifers pretty cool if your into your cosmic/religious crazy power level adventure.

Lucifer's pretty good, but not at the same level as Sandman. I read all the spinoffs, they're all pretty mediocre.
Except for Death and the Dream Hunters and the like, that Gaiman was involved in. The shit like Thessaly and the House of Mystery are lame.

Yeah, I was planning on only reading the Sandman ones written by Gaiman plus Lucifer. Stuff like the chibi Endless or w.e it is don't look very appealing anyway.
Death was great. Lucifer too. Check em out.

Be sure to read Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run if you haven't. It technically serves as a prequel to Sandman because it shares many of the same themes and characters. Cain, Abel, and Matthew show up for instance. As well as that Black Orchid comic Gaiman did, because it serves as a pilot for what Gaiman wanted to do with Sandman (take a DC character nobody cared about and radically re-invent them).
I liked the two trades they released for The Dreaming and, despite some hate others seem to have for the series, really liked House Of Mystery too.
