Black kids get electrical powers all the time. Mexican kids make deals with demons. And Asians get experimented on to be cheap knockoff superheros.

I thought this too until I saw an episode of House Hunters where a black guy was married to a white woman. I was so confused that I asked my parents why he isn't dating a black woman. they explained that people of any race can fall in love and I was just so surprised at the time

Technically only partially /co/ related: but when I was a kid I used to assume colors didn't even exist in the world before the 1940's, probably because of Wizard of Oz.

What really threw me off though was how even old timey cartoons weren't colorized... My logic being that if they were simply drawn in color, then surely they'd have shown up on film that way too.

Clyde Frog teaches you not to take your mom's happy pills, no matter how much they look like candy:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--HSUhku6tM

Clyde teaches you not to mess around with daddy's shootin' irons:

The misconception I learned from watching Clyde Frog is that puppets can survive all kinds of stuff.

I seriously thought these rice balls were donuts. I thought the white part was dough and the black wrapper was some kind of jelly filling.

>>
>>93763433
Yeah smart parents have smart kids. But if you don't go to school you wont know shit. There's tons of jackoffs online who run around bragging about how theyre the smartest people in the universe only to immediately get pissy when questioned.

I was sorta one of those people, easily coasting my way through public school thinking I had the god gene only to look at any advanced college mathematics and realize I wasn't as smart as I thought I was. "I'm really smart and the only reason I don't get good grades is because I don't care enough to apply myself" is one of the biggest plagues this generation has. It leads to avoiding obstacles and challenges which then makes you lazy and unfulfilled.

I really wish I took higher difficulty classes in highschool when I was still more malleable

Oh, this reminds me of one of mine:

For some reason I thought all Disney films were made sometime during my lifetime. It blew my mind when I tried to point out the presence of Snow White in the movie A Christmas Story as an anachronism and my mom explained that Snow White came out in the 30s. I think part of what confused me may have been that it's not in black and white, but at the time I couldn't place that reasoning.

I really do not blame american kids for not realizing this, because, how the hell were we supposed to guess it was a rice ball if we'd never seen one and the show directly tells us it's a donut? I think it'd be much more odd for a kid to assume it wasn't a funny looking donut despite having been told so, and straight out of left field to look at that and say "I think that's a triangle made of rice."

Yeah, MMA probably isn't the term I'm looking for, the main point is that strength and aggression will usually beat skill realistically, the idea of a well trained guy easily taking down someone twice their size who is very angry is pretty much just movie bullshit.

Basically, if you actually want to defend yourself on the street against a potentially deadly assailant, get a CCW.

Well it's not like it's a myth or anything. Most cats do love cream/full milk even though it's bad for their digestion (I'm sure many here can relate). Traditionally cats are not a house pet; they were kept outside where they could hunt and eat mice. And owners would often leave out milk/cream as a treat either not knowing or not caring that they, like every adult mammal with the exception of an extremely small genetic minority of humans, are lactose intolerant.

I had a big DC encyclopedia before I read many comics, so growing up I thought of Barry Allen as "The Flash II" or Hal Jordan as "Green Lantern II", not THE Green Lantern, or THE definitive Flash.

When I saw a character who I thought was cool, like Plastic Man or Johnny Sorrow, I thought that they must have a lot of comics about them like how Batman or Superman do. That was my biggest disappointment desu, same thing happened when I looked at Marvel characters.

Cartman has three other dolls he's sometimes seen with: Polly Prissypants, Peter Panda, and Rumpertumskin. They were all just made up for the show, but in the episode 1% Cartman also has "Muscleman Marc" who's a stuffed version of the fashion designer Marc Jacobs. That's because apparently in real life Marc Jacobs has tattoos of Clyde Frog and Rumpertumskin.
Then if that wasn't enough after the episode came out Jacobs also got a tattoo of Muscleman Marc.

I thought Kingpin was a low level mutant with minor-league super strength. And as an adult I think he SHOULD be, it just makes sense why he's so tough in a fight. makes way more sense than just "he bulks a lot with very few cut cycles" or "he's not really fat".

Mercy killing can be an incredible noble act. It can take a really strong set of morals and sense of the greater good to put down an animal despite the fact you like that animal because there's no other good choice. I'm sure there must be some sadists in it for the bloodlust, but I truly believe most are doing it because they believe it to be the right thing, and would absolutely do anything in their power to adopt the animals to good homes when possible instead of putting them down.

Just go ask /an/, I'm sure there are a couple people on there with real life experience that can tell you their personal experience with the situation and what kind of other people they've come across too.

I had thought to "touch yourself" was literally just like...touching your arm with your hand. I was baffled that this was bad, somehow.

Technically Kingpin does sort of have low level 'super strength' and could be a mutant in the real life sense, like Ozzie and his ability to consume drugs beyond normal human beings, his body is impossible even for comicbooks

when i first started watching DBZ as a kid i thought...

>goku & yamcha were the same guy
>vegeta was goku's brother
>krillin was the same age as gohan
>>
>>93788566
But the point still stands that the reason he was able to survive such hardcore drug misuse so well throughout his life is literally because he's a mutant whos body can break down such things better than normal men.

He was examined by doctors and this was found to be the case.
>>
>>93788600
Yamcha would be a better dad than Goku, if he was retarded and didn't know to actually use a condom when fucking bitches.

rewatching DBZ up to cell somewhat made goku being a deadbeat make a little sense.

basically bulma joked about goku attracting guys frieza and goku took it seriously.

it's why he has gohan fight cell and why he put so much stock into fusion beating buu.

This one.
There are bigger and better versions of the Marvel Handbook that cover Spider-Man specifically but this one was a lot of fun to read.
Had an Avengers one just like it too.

Oh man I just remembered that guy actually.
Mindworm, wasn't it? What an odd character to include.

Oh shit son, I had this when I was younger
The Carrion page freaked me out
And that mind control dude? What was it, Peter was visiting Flash in his new apartment, and then that dude mind-controlled everyone in the building to feed off of their brain waves?
Weird stuff.

It must be weird to have the doc straight up tell you that you should be dead.

Not really. All it does is reinforce the idea that you're an immortal god forced to walk the Earth for all of time, watching societies rise and fall until the planet itself dies.

What I don't get is why they did this to begin with. If they had just called them rice balls like they actually were, I wouldn't have questioned it. Shit, I probably could have gotten cultured as a kid. "You mean the food they eat in the Pokemon world is real?"

I knew it was sex but I didn't know what a vagina was. I thought women gave birth via cesarean surgery. Also I thought reproductive sex was penis to anal and that vaginas were just tiny peeing holes.

But then you'd have a bunch of snot-nosed brats screaming to their moms to make riceballs when most of them have no idea how and no option of googling it.
>>
>>93790804
It's called a riceball. I'm pretty sure they can figure it out.
>>
>>93790193
I didn't know what vaginas ere either. Every time I had seen a woman naked they had had pubes so I couldn't see anything underneath so I just assumed nothing was there.

I thought women gave birth out of their belly buttons and peed out of their butt. I once said the latter in front of my friend's mom and she was not happy I said it.
>>
>>93787834
I remember putting together how reproduction worked as we were being taught in class. The teacher was just done explaining the differences between penises and vaginas when I rose my hand and asked him if penises went inside vaginas to make children. Everyone was really grossed out and called me disgusting. We were 9 at the time.

Italian dub called them "coconut pastries" rather than donuts, so I believed it was some weird Japanese rice cake filled with coconut cream and the black part was dark chocolate.

Other misconceptions:
>Fantastic 4 members are called Rubberman, Torchman, Stoneman and Invisible Woman
>Flash Gordon and DC Flash are the same character
>Spider-Man haves organic webs (and that was BEFORE the Raimi movies)
>Heathcliff and Garfield were the same character, at a certain point someone else bought the character and renamed him for some reason
>Clark Kent is a normal person who transforms into Superman when enters a phone booth
>Road Runner is some weird species of ostrich known as the Beep Beep that was either very rare or made up for the cartoons
>The main characters from Tiny Toons were the Looney Tunes as kids with different names and designs for some reason (I never got the episodes with the actual Bugs Bunny and co. appearing)
>Joker is just wearing makeup
>Aquaman was made up for the Superfriends cartoon
>Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter were made up for the Justice League cartoon

As someone who's only known Spiderman through comics and video games, was it always web shooters, or has organic webbing gone in and out over the years?
>>
>>93792470
It was always web shooters. It was organic for a short while after the Raimi movies came out but it didn't last too long

>I thought of Barry Allen as "The Flash II" or Hal Jordan as "Green Lantern II", not THE Green Lantern, or THE definitive Flash.

Depends on when you had the encyclopedia. You weren't exactly wrong at some point.
>>
>>93792583
Really, so Raimi was the first to make it organic? When I was a lad, I played games where there were web cartridges, but I thought it was just a mechanic and it was all organic anyway.

>japs use a certain kind of vinegar to get the rice to stick together without falling apart at the slightest pressure

The fuck are you talking about? That's not how you make onigiri. Rice balls don't have vinegar. You just salt your hands and press the rice together. It only really works with short grain rice, I think, and I don't think it can be too cold or dry when you press it. But the rice is just naturally sticky.

Sushi is the one that has vinegar, but I'm pretty sure it's more for flavor and less for sticking.

My mom was confused as hell when my little cousins would demand Krabby Patties. She was very relieved to find out they were looking for something resembling a hamburger, since at first she thought they had weird cravings for crab cakes, and that shit's expensive.
>>
>>93764070
I think I know what you mean but there's a lot of different factors at play here. What martial art are we talking about? How good is the practioner and what is the situation? Some semi-decent judo practioner who only knows judo and was never in a real street fight may be fucked if he tries to use his learned skills in a street fight.
I imagine Krav Maga would be a fairly decent martial art that's actually useful though.

I thought Spider-Man was Spiderman and to this very day I think the proper spelling is fucking stupid.

Either one word
>Superman
>Batman
>Quicksilver

or two words
>Wonder Woman
>Green Lantern
>Iron Man

And what's worse? Spiderman was the norm for a while, but with all these reboots and mainstream media, normies are starting to catch on to the dash shit. The dash don't be silent. The dash is retarded.
>>
>>93794588
Well yeah, there are martial arts used for sport, used for fitness, used for art, and even martial arts used for mental health. Then there krav maga and kickboxing, and other shit used for killing people.

Either you are genuinely a sociopath or you have no real friends. To be honest, am just ambivalent about family, but I have at least three friends I have purely for companionship, one of which is my fiancee.

I think you just lack friends, not that friendship does not matter. how old are you?

Edward could appear kind of effeminate in the show. And keep in mind, the show is meant for really little kids.
