>snide, cynical alcoholic who acts like an asshole, will kill if provoked, and is hated by half the people he meets. But deep down, cares about the common man and would give his life for them
How many protagonists has Ellis written who aren't like this?
Well I think that there were one or two who weren't alcoholics and a few who were hated by 100% of the people they met.
And THIS is why Ellis was perfect to write James Bond comics. Bond is an Ellis protagonist already. Fuck, Ellis should work for MGM.
I also disliked Trevor, anon

I wish he ignored his "write 6 to 12 issues, then pass it off to another writer" rule, and wrote 60 straight issues of a James Bond comic. It would've taken forever, but it would've been cool to get another long-form Ellis comic.

Elijah Snow appears to be this the first few appearances, but as the series progresses he quickly loses the image.
You forgot smoker.

it's a miracle if he doesn't leave the comic unfinished before 12 issues nowadays
is there a more untrustworthy writer

Well he was that but only because he erased his memories

Johns is pretty untrustworthy but he at least tends to stick around when he does write something.

It's a good archetype for the kinds of settings he writes
The same way the protagonist is a piece of shit the world around him is also shit, but as the protagonist sees one glimmer of goodness amidst the darkness he too shows he has so good within him that was buried long ago.

When was the last time Ellis wrote anything that lasted more than 2 or 3 trades?
>>93728681
injection will reach a third trade and maybe go beyond

I don't think Elijah Snow was a drunk.
