I think we can officially say the vulture might be the smartest to be alone in the MCU so far. While it should've been common sense the conversation Peter and Liz were having in the car alone made him pick up and Peter being Spiderman.

I thought the MJ reveal, like the "oh you should use your real name, Robin" reveal, was stupid. That said, I thought Michelle as a character was way more entertaining than most other MJ incarnations I've seen.

This is the part where I confess that I don't really give a fuck about him ending up with MJ in particular. Sure, I want Peter to move on from being a manchild, but it could be with anyone for all I care.

I liked Chat. And Silver Sable. And MJ's fine too, but I don't get what the big deal is. I feel like people are frustrated with the physical change, because it really points out that that's her entire character.

She's a hot redhead who likes acting or whatever and she loves Pete. Other than that, what can you really say about her? Hell, you can't even say half of THAT with the current comic's MJ.

Genuinely liked the movie but it doesn't make sense how litterally the whole movie tony stark is telling peter not to go after vulture, even taking away his suit because of it, then at the end praises him for going against his wishes and does nothing but rewards him.

I get the logic behind this argument, but I've gotta disagree with it. MJ is an iconic character. That's what people know, so it's understandable that that's what people want to see.

By that line of logic, there's nothing wrong with making Luke Cage asian; his story is that he's a dude who was wrongfully imprisoned, got super powers, and became a hero for hire. But people would flip a shit if that change was made. Because it's totally unnecessary and distracting.

You can change, say, the Shocker, and no one will give a shit. He's a B-list villain that a lot of casual viewers aren't familiar with. But people know Spider-Man and Mary Jane. If you change her and cast a talented actress, it can work (like how they case Michael Clarke Duncan as Kingpin in Daredevil), but when it falls flat like it did here, it just ends up feeling like distracting pandering.
