Jon Bois is a legend. I think the weird experiments with the millenia long football games were what he thought of first and then he built the story around it. Breaking Madden had dozens of experiments on football already, and his google earth knowledge he used in Pretty Good allows him to work on all the videos. He had even already written imaginary stuff with the Tim Tebow chronicles. Every piece he needed to make this, he had already done.
